View Full Version : Forcing flyable planes in NGen

I was just curious that is it possible to assosciate different squadrons like eg. Finnish Llv34 to fly Bf109-G6 in recon/patrol while German II/JG54 would fly Fw190-A. Currently it seems that NGen sometimes assigns Llv34 with Focke-Wulfs which is not historically accurate.
So is it possible to force a squadron to fly only one aircraft type?

AFAIK no. I've been asking this feature, or a feature to have historically fixed planesets per squadron from Starshoy with no success.

I believe it wouldn't be too hard to implement this for example in *Wings.dat in one additional column if someone with prestige would ask for it.

The only way to make sure that Fockes dont fly in LeLv34 sometimes is to leave them out completely http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. And Stukas too. And that is quite dull for example in Summer '44 campaign you're planning.

However Starshoy promised that in PF There SHOULD be feature (enabled in conf.ini) that via mission template's stationary aircraft, you can affect which airfield different planetypes use, but I'm afraid it will be Dgen only feature. -And there is no mention about it in PF-readme published in SimHQ...

Thanks for the info Hanu!

Too bad it can't be implemented, but after editing your nice 44 summer campaign a bit I noticed it is possible to put Stukas and FW190s to fly at least selectable jabo/bombing missions while 109s are flown by Llv34 in escort and patrol missions. That requires editing the available planes on friendly sides, limiting them to just those types mentioned...so it's hardly a good solid fix for the issue.

Anyway thanks for the swift reply!
