Anyone else having this problem since the patch?

It typically happens in mid-game (online and offline) for no apparent reason. I've set my video preferences to medium and am getting over 35-40 fps, but it keeps happening.

Sys specs:

Asus A7A133 MoBo
AMD Thunderbird 1Ghz
GeForce 440 MX 64 Mb
Win XP Pro

I know my system is showing its age, but I never had these problems before.... any ideas?

Sounds like a setup-flaw of your system, rather than a Problem with FB?

1.1b has a better usage for your memory. If you got 265MB and 12 tasks in the background under Win98SE that can be a problem. But I doubt that it can be fixed with a patch?!

Thanx guys...

I'm looking into possible IRQ conflicts at the moment... but so far all looks well....

BTW - I'm using XP Pro with 512MB SDRAM on an ASUS7 with an AMD Thunderbird....

Almost time to update.... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Funnily enough I had NO problems prior to the patch - and YES - I've turned down the quality on FB to 'Medium'....

Where is Customer Service when you want them? LOL

Okay, if you run XP on a 1 GHz CPU, I know where you problem lies. XP has a minimum reccomendation if 1.4GHz. Anything below will only slow down the system.

I'd either update your system or downgrade your OS to Win2000 or Win98SE. On that machine it could give you up to 15% back, that is now consumed by XP.

I have this problem when closing FB. my pc freezes and nothing short of a "hard" shutdown works....
any ideas?

ampadgog I think you gotta problem with your sig mate.
The "< /span >< /blockquote >< /font >< /td >< /tr >" bit is unnecessary and is causing problems with the board.

I have a sneaky suspicion that its a sound related issue, especially when multiple pilots begin radio chatter. From that moment on, the response time for gamer input, such as the ESC key, or clicking buttons and switches in the menu, suddenly drop down very slow.

Wait for a while, try alt-tab to go outside IL2/FB, and then re-enter the game. That usually cures up the sudden freezes for me.

Due to pressure from the moderators, the sig returns to..
