In the next week or two, God willing, I'll be able to purchase a new joystick and a new vid card.

I have no problem in deciding which video card that I want to buy - it will be one of the GeForce FX 6600 series - but I'm a kind of confused in deciding which stick that I should get.

Having (sort of) traumatic experiences regarding Logitech sticks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif, I think Im going to buy another brand but that's just where the problem is: I couldnt find another brand besides Logitech in stores here in Jakarta. Ive seen some Microsoft sticks (reconditioned, perhaps) several months ago but - alas - they're all sold out now.

It's a kind of dilemma. On another side, Logitech has introduced a new stick (3D extreme?) recently for about $35. Quite cheap but considering that Ive spent around $60 for two Logitech sticks in a year... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Any suggestions?

Why don't you try a Saitek? I have a cyborg evo and it seems pretty good. Has twist rudder, 10 buttons and was only about US$35 excluding postage. I have noticed that it has loosened up a bit in the 6 months I've been using it but if you test it before playing it settles down fine. I have noticed that on my stick the rudder tends to twitch to the right if not recalibrated.
If you check out www.ebgames.com (http://www.ebgames.com) I am pretty sure they can send stuff internationally. I live in Japan and found that a lot of companies won't do that (luckily a kindly member of the community helped me out!)
Good luck with it anyway. Hope everyone you know is okay after the tsunami.
Cheers,
FSM
