View Full Version : Planes stuck @ Gear wont come down - Help??

Hi all, I think this is the 1st time I've posted in the forum http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I've owned FB & ACE for a for a while now, love them both. I even got a Track IR3 to help with the immersion (They're sweet)

Cut to the chase.... I purchased Pacific Fighters today for 19.99 (a steal) So whats the first thing I try....? A landing on the Lex, played through Single missions, Landing on Carrier2 I think. But on approach I try lowering my gear and nothing happens. The gear is bound to a button on the joystick, even tried binding to a key but still nothing? I've played IL2 for hours but on that mission I cant lower the gear, so any ideas whats happening?

Another one is taking off, I can't move. i rev, flaps, mixture, canopy, no tail hook, no brakes but the plane doesn't budge. Do I have to watch the training for the landing / takeoff before I can do the mission. It's just it refers to the training section on the briefs. Is the a key to bind for takeoff that i'm missing.

Help once again any reply is appreciated

did you by chance read the "Read me" file?

If it helps I installed the 3.03 patch before even testing PF so I'm not sure if it's that. I'm gonna try watching the tutorials to see if that helps

If you were flying a wildcat you will have to bind a key to raise landing gear manually and the same to lower the gear. Just keep tapping the key untill the gear is raised or lowered what ever the case may be. Also bind a key to chocks and press the key when you are ready to take off.

The same thing happens with the I-16.

Thanks for the reply's, very quick. I must have been flying the wildcat, so I'll try the manual gears. And thanks for the chocks away info. It's time for bed, byt i guess i can fit a quick take off and landing - Cheers and have a good weekend

Everybody was a new player at one time or another.

Nice to see a new guy get the help he needs rather than the old "RTFM" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif But I still think RTFM is funny...

Well on the third atempt I got the plane on the carrier, thought that was quite good going. I'll try in the rain tomorrow at dusk see how many that takes me. I've looked through the readme and text but nothing really looked remotely to do with taking off of the carrier, but I'm probably wrong.

Cheers again

At least once I have had to crank down the gear by hand on a plane with auto landing gear due to damage. So having the keys mapped is a good idea.

At least evecom had the good taste to try the Wildcat first. I had one up in the QMB hoping to splash some Betties and practice a couple of landings. No landings, one ejection.
