i currently run PF reasonably well, 1024x728 on perfect, water.2 trees.2, all other settings default in CONF.ini

specs: gigabyte 8PE67 ultra MB 533mhzFSB
P4 2.4,
Nvidia GF4 4200ti 128mb w/8xAGP
1GB pc333 DDR(2700)
80gb seagate 7200rpm HD

i have the option through two different builders.

system1:Gigabyte GA-81K1100 MB 800mhzFSB
P4 3.2
Gainward GF FX5700 w/256MB
1GB 400mhz DDR(3200)
120GB 7200rpm SATA HD

system2:MSI P4/LGA775 ATX MB 800mhzFSB
P4 3.0
MSI X600XT 128MB PCI Express
1GB DDR pc400(3200)
120GB seagate 7200rpm SATA RAID HD

i need advice on which system to go with. i don't know much about ATI chipsets. but i'm leaning towards system 2. i think PCI express is going to advance more in the future. i also need to run AutoCAD, but i'm sure either system would be more than capable.

I am also considering my new computer system. I am going the AMD A64 route. The AMD A64 seems to have the best reputation for gaming performance.

As for PCI Express, I have done some research and so far PCI Express holds a lot of promise for the future, but there is probably little to be gained over AGP 8X at this time.

I would really like to hear from some other members regarding the video card format.

it's more dependant on what you would like to spend.
