Dont know if this has been shown before or not. But battlefront.com (makers of the great combat mission series) has agreed with the Russian developers of this game to bring it to the market.

Cool...The last decent tank sim was i think Steel Beasts and the graphics in that was a little dated, but a very involved sim just the same.
Right now the only tank i am enjoying is the arcadish renderings of BF1942, which is very fun to play, but i find myself playing "arty" everytime i join game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Love tanks sims and I'm buying it. However, I hope they do change a lot of the political stuff that appeared on the russian page. It very sad that such a good product had to be used by people for a political statment. However, it looks great http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

A political instrumented game does normaly show own equipment with quite a overestimate and other side with underestiamte of performance. So i dont believe this will be accurate cause its not intended to be but it looks good thats all. Dont exspect it to be realistic.

mmm, simhq reviewed the sim and found rough handling at the hands of the enemy as well as equipment failures and historical lack of certain equipment.

I didn't mean the game have a political slant. The T-72 isn't the most powerful thing out there. However, anybody that can read Russian and read the box art would be shocked at the Anti Western ideas on the box. Not just Anti-US but NATO. It was just a little tasteless for such a fine product to be degraded that way but it's publisher http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I agree with Indylavi 100%. Their web page has a profound propagandist anit-western, anti NATO slant. I wont do any well deserved name calling here but i will tell you that i wont buy this product. Ya ya ya, who cares brother. cheers!

FOX News (I think) showed us here in Ussia the one funny thing to come out of the US/Serbian WAR -- Belgrade TV airing the commercial that showed the NATO symbol with the Imperial March music from Empire Strikes Back....NATO being the Evil Empire of course. This tells me the Serb civilian population had closely followed the old StarWars movies and enjoyed them....just like us.

Really? There's an easy way to take care of that. Alert the Lucas Art's lawyer squad! No-one survives an encounter with them.

I must agree with Indylavi too. It's one thing to, rightfully, praise the virtues of, say, the T-34, because even Western armor experts admit that it was one of, if not the, best all around tank of WW II. To claim the same about the T-72 is dubious at best because there is no widespread agreement that the T-72 was even the best Cold War tank. So all the claims on the website about it kicking b*tt in the Bekaa Valley, Afghanistan, the Gulf in 1991, the Balkans are more self-serving than fact.

Which is why I feel the game will be an infomercial for the T-72, saying "look everybody what a super-duper-well nigh invincible tank the Soviets had ! We're so lucky in the West that we never p*ssed off the CCCP enough to have thousands of these running all over Europe." http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
