First (for those of you who always suggest these things);

*I've used the forum search engine for threads.
*I've searched my IL-2 links. (42 of them. Went to their homepages too and their links to other pages. Possibly 50-60 sites total.)
*I've read, re-read and re-re-read my Manual.

Now;

I want to host an online Co-Op in IL-2 Sturmovick. (Original, not FB)
Due to the response to a previous thread I had posted, it seems that there are others who who only own IL-2 or have IL-2 as well as FB that wish to participate in such a venture. (DrHanger I'm looking for you)

Can anyone direct me to a site or resource that better explains the process than the manual does? Hyperlobbys' FAQ didn't seem to help either.
Also the manuals explaination for finding my own IP leaves me with a "bad command" line in DOS. (Don't do DOS well)

Of course there is always the possiblity that I missed something right under my nose.
(Admit it, you've missed something right under your nose too, right? A show of hands is not necessary.)

Any help would be appreciated.

in hyperlobby, providing you CAN host (if you are on cable or ADSL you are likely blocked from hosting by a firewall) its merely a matter of clicking in the co-op box waiting for enough people to join then hitting go http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm on cable w/firewall and I have no problem with going online in a DF room and either playing or hosting.

So, I don't have to go through my GUI to set up an online co-op? (Assuming I use a default map?)

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

In HL, the host selects the top mission slot in any of the DF windows, clicks on the blue button in the top corner, selects his difficulty preferences and clicks save/launch. HL will then launch the game directly into the multiplayer "Create server" screen in the GUI. From there, it's just like peer to peer except others use HL instead of the game GUI to join.

Coop is slightly different, you have to wait until other players have chosen HL mission slots b4 launching. The rest of the process is more or less the same.

IF you are running 95/98 or ME, type winipcfg in the run box. THis will give you your IP address.

In Win2K and XP, type COMMAND in the run box and then type ipconfig to show your IP.

CDN_Merlin:

Thanks. Your explaination is easier to understand than the directions in the manual which suggest more text.

And to think english is my first language!
