S! To All in the IL2:PF Community

We are pleased to announce that every Friday Night beginning on Oct 21st we are sponsoring "Friday Night At The Fights". Each Friday Night at 9:00 PM EST we will be hosting an entirely objective based mission on our Private Server. We invite any and all who are interested to sign up and participate. We also encourage you to submit your ideas for future sessions. To sign up simply go to our Mission Sign-up Forum and make a post as described below. The forum is located at:

Here are the details:

Each Friday Night there will be an Objective Based Mission that will be run on a Private Server. The specifics of the Mission will be posted the week before along with an announcement in the UBI forums inviting players. The map for FNATF will be placed on the server on Thursday morning and the password will be sent to those who have signed up. This is for practice and familiarization. Sides are encouraged to practice together.

A CAG will be assigned for each side. The CAG will be responsible for mediating the coordination of the squad and communication between Sides. The CAG will be given Channel Commander priveleges on the TS server. A player will only be allowed to be the CAG One Time in a 6 week period. This will insure that no one person is dominating the sessions and everyone will get a chance at commanding.

In order to sign up you will need to post the following in the Mission Announcement in our forum:

Call sign

Squad (if applicable)

Side Preference- Axis, Ally, Either

Role Preference- Attack, Fighter, Either

Carrier Qualification Status- You are considered CQ if you can make 3 Consecutive TO & Ldg without mishap. This is not a determining factor for participation as this session isnot based on points, it is based on objectives. It will simple let us know what to expect. You will be required to TO from a carrier but there will be a neutral airfield for landing if you cannot land on a carrier

We cannot guarantee that you will be assigned to all or even any of your preferences as we will need to balance the sides.

1) No Vulching

2) No Shooting Parachutes

3) Must notify by post if you will not be able to make it. A No-Show without notice and you will not be allowed to sign for the next week. Two no shows and you will be banned.

4) Realism setting will be full switch with speedbar only.

5) No swearing, name calling, racial slurs, or harassment of any kind will be tolerated.

6) No Kill Stealing.

7) First side to obtain the objective is the winner. No stats are kept on the server. This is STRICTLY OBJECTIVE BASED.

8- Only those players that sign-up will be given the password. Password is not to be given to anyone not on the sign up list. If it is found that you have given out the password you will be banned!

9) Intentional Team killing is strictly forbidden. If you kill your team mate by accident apologize and go on. No apology and it will be assumed that the Tk was intentional.

10) A/C are not allowed to T.O. from the Neutral Zone. Anyone caught doing so will be booted from the session. If you land in the Neutral Zone you must restart from your Home Airfield.

Again S! to all of you out there and hope to see you in the not so friendly skies!

VC-81 is a top notch bunch and I encourage everyone to participate. I have tried twice to attend their special events but so far fate has intervened every time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

EST in which country? What is it relative to GMT?

It has to be the United States of America. Here's a link to assist you with GMT http://www.worldtimezone.com/datetime.htm

EST = Eastern Standard Time, Eastern Time Zone of United States.

EDT = Eastern Daylight Time, Eastern Time Zone of United States that observes Daylight Savings Time.

On October 21, 2005 and October 28, 2005 we will still be on EDT, not EST, here on the east coast of the United States. The clocks will be setback 1 hour to EST on October 30, 2005 at 2AM. Did the starters of the thread take this information into account when setting the time for the First and Second "Friday Night at the Fights"?

Well the first one was an absolute blast! Well done everyone and a hardy ~S~ to VC-81.

Looking forward to the high level bombing of which I've not done before but should be a hoot.

Another fun mission, high level bombing. Nice change from constant d/f's.

Can't wait until next friday's though. Strike/Fighters. Get to destroy targets on each other's airbases and shoot planes down as a bonus http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I attended the Strike Fighter FNATFs (my first) and had an absolute blast. Excellant pilots and comprehensive battle plans. Great opportunities for all to fly strike, escort, and CAP.
Glider and Bolter have truly raised the bar among the flight sim community and I offer them my thanks and a crisp salute for their efforts.
Everyone owes it to themselves to make at least one of these sessions. The slots fill up fast though so sign up early. If you can't make the session, get on TS and hang out after the FNATFs for follow-on flying with the hard-core boys. This is what combat flight sim was meant to be!
Congrats Glider and Bolter!
