when a game have been made they make a certain amount of copies for sale. wonder how many there's been made worldwide?

wouldn't 1C and Ubisoft be able to sqeese another big pile of money out of this game if they produced some more copies and put them in the game stores. i mean, just look at the cummunity, its huge and we keep seeing new people coming to the forums and asking for if its worth to buy.

This online community is not huge... it's just very involved. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Overall, numbers of IL2 sold/produced is small compared to other titles.

And what to think of all the add-ons, stand alone versions and compilation packs? I guess many simmers have several versions of the game. I have Pacific Fighters and 1946.
Therefore I am more interested in how many people play this game on a frequent base.
When I look at the number of viewed threads just a few hundred people are active here. And at this moment (CET) there are about 600 people at Hyperlobby dogfighting.
Overall there isn't such a large IL2 community but very active and - like FT said - involved.

Considering that SIMS 2 sold a million copies in the first 10 days after release and just recently broke the 100 million sales mark ... IL2 is very small fish indeed.

Also out of the dozen or so IL2 players I am aware of in real life (my squad doesn't count as I met them thru IL2) I am the only one that ever played online ever.
