View Full Version : forum search - no use

why is the forum search so poor?
I cannot believe that the word "runway" does not appear in any of the maddox forums using the advanced search option...
Is anyone else getting useless results with this search function... because if they are there a lot of information that is never going to be found..
just try looking through 250+ pages of community help forum for an answer with an unreliable search engine and then we may get a reason why so many questions are asked again and again and again

You're right, it's pitiful, I've given up trying to use the search function.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

yeah it's cr@p, a good forum is a knowledgebank, this is just chaos and the guys who have the answers on people's quetions are working overtime because they have to answer and answer again the same questions over and over again

This whole forum software needs to go. When I can actually get on (peak hours are usually not accessible), it takes 30 seconds to several minutes just to load a page. UBI is the only forum I've seen that's this stupidly slow. The 56k'ers must be in agony. And forget the search. Might as well remove the links to it.

Either they need some major server upgrades or the software just blows. Probably both.

What annoys me most is that it has been broken for such a long time. Even a year ago, when I visited before I became a regular this has never happened for so long. I hope UBI fixes it, the community should have better forums.

When it's working, the search features in this forum software is quite good. Unfortunately the IT admins at Ubi have an uncanny knack for breaking otherwise useful software (that incidentally works quite reliably at other sites). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

That's an answer for me because I was wondering if it was the software even tho I couldn't figure out why its worked well at the other forums. After so long its hard to believe those with responsibility would still be here messing up.

Try viewing your own previous posts though your profile.I have 600 odd but search can't find ONE not one!!and the loading of pages becomes slower and slower, perhaps they are trying to wind it down. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif
