View Full Version : Confim? Rocket Salvo Bug?

I was hosting a 2 player coop mission.
Flying an IL2 with 8 BRS 132 rockets (or something like that).

I could not fire more than 2 rockets every 2 seconds or so. No matter what I tried.

Is this by design?

I'd hit the fire button and the first salvo would go, I'm travelling up a road and want to take out a whole column, but I rapidly hit the fire button again, and nothing happens.

I pull up, and blammo. The rockets release?

This seems to be a bug, and I've submitted it as such, but wanted to get some feedback here.

Its not a bug the rockets dont fire like machine guns.

May you become a dirt torpedo.

Indicate that you can fire rockets in rapid succession.

Can I get a more educated response with less assumptions, please?

Not being able to fire them rapidly I guess is ok?!?
Don´t know how it really was, but (as I understand it) you press fire 2 times rapidly:
1st salvo goes of, then a 2? sec delay until next salvo fires...

Only 1 salvo should be fired in this case, or 2 as rapidly as you press the button....

This what you mean?

My understanding is that, if unlimited ammo is enabled, a delay between salvos is imposed. Apparently to prevent rocket spamming when unlimited ammo is on (firing a bajillion rockets using a rapid fire key or button).

The rockets should fire normally when ammo is limited.

I as playing a IL-2 campaign with RS-132 rockets these days, limited ammo, and I pressed the fire button in the hope to detonate the entire column, I ended up making a series of holes with 1 meter of distanciation between one and another
Making it short: they fired almost at the same time /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I think it has always been so since Il-2. I flew my IL-2 campaign with limited ammo and that's where I first noticed that you can't fire them too rapidly. I've not specially checked to see if it is still so, but I thought (or assumed) it was.

Clearly it was an unlimited ammo server. With a faster ROF you could hose down everything in bits of seconds with that thing. With realistic ammo, you can fire them all in one second or even quicker.
