Your topic title should be

"Assassin's Creed: Revelations" - Funny fail!

now that's a funny fail.

Oh, and it wasn't officially changed to Istanbul until sometime in the 1900s when Turkey became a country.

It is widely believed that the city was renamed to "Istanbul" in the aftermath of the conquest. In actuality, Ottomans used the Arabic transliteration of the city's name, "Kostantiniyye," as can be seen in numerous Ottoman documents. The name of Istanbul, deriving from a Greek phrase ("to the City", Greek: eis -tin- polin) was probably already spread among the Turkish populace of the Ottoman Empire before the conquest.[citation needed] Istanbul would become the official name of the city in 1930 by the Turkish Postal Law of 1930 as part of Atatürk's reforms.[76][77][78]

On another note, I personally think it's because the Animus is the one that gives the city it's name when it being formed out of the digital space. The Animus uses it's English (well, the way you spell it in english) name at the time, and it was Constantinople officially. However, many people in the game itself do call it Istanbul.

They call Rome in Brotherhood Roma, Florence Firenze, etc.

Fixed some grammar there man. Welcome to the forums by the way.

On a side note funy would be pronounced as "foo- knee"
Edit: What was the joke anyway?
