Found these pics of the currently ongoing installation of the european space lab module "Columbus" on the ISS and would like to share them.

I had to drastically reduce the resolution of these pics. If you want to see them and others in full resolution you can find them on www.esa.int (http://www.esa.int) in the "multimedia gallery"

The Columbus module was built in Italy and Germany and costed more than 2 billion €.

Columbus gets released from the payload bay by the robot arm of Space Shuttle Atlantis.

German astronaut Hans Schlegel works on Columbus's hull after it got connected to the ISS.

I didnt know that astronauts are allowed to wear glasses inside these suits. Or is it just some shadows on his face ? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

... The german construction workers I saw in germany always had a crate of beer nearby for their many work breaks.

...so where is his crate of beer ... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif ... hidden somewhere in his suit???

You are obviously unaware of the beer brewing capabilities of this module. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

One of the main goals is to research the behaviour of beer foam in zero gravity. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif This could open the door to fully new beer achievements. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
