Hi guys... I'm lokking for a good pair of rudder pedals to go with my X-52. What would be, according to you, a good one.

I'm willing to pay up to $300 for them.

Thanks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

CH Pro Pedals are nice. Study. My only complaint is that they are too close together, so usually just step on the sides of them. I think they were built for kids.

Not according to me (I'm using homebuilt stuff http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif ) it's either CH Pro Pedals or Simpeds!

Have Fun!

(Hey, you can buy my rudder pedals for them $'s. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif )

Simpeds are by far the best pedals you can get aside from the super expensive pro models. They are each hand built by a guy in Germany, so they can take several weeks to ship, but they are worth it. The top models with toe brakes are a bit over $300, or you can get the regular Vario model for uner $200. They use HAL sensors instead of pots, and high quality bearings in the pivot so they will last forever, and eventhough they are made of plastic, feel very solid.

I use the cheapest option possible, and it works fine. If you have a spare analogue gamepad simply name one of the mini joysticks as Rudder, place it on the floor and operate it with your foot. It costs next to nothing and works great.

Simped Vario/Pro or Simped f16, it depends if you want long throw (ideal for il2, no brakes but can be updated) or short throw+brakes (more suitable for jets).

Sounds as though Simped f16 is more suited to jets ( General Dynamics F16 Fighting Falcon ) ...so I would assume that the Vario/Pro pedals are the ones you want. Still think you should try the cheap option...but then...I'm cheap http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am happy with my CH pedals. I've had them about 6 months now.

Well, since money is not problem, I suggest this special version of Simped, since we flew airplanes of WWII. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Vario pros have longer throw, f16 have shorter and stronger springs, but pedals aren't cups, they are operated with your feet fixed. http://shop3.webmailer.de/cgi-bin/ePages.filereader?3d9...db+DE/catalogs/92118 (http://shop3.webmailer.de/cgi-bin/ePages.filereader?3d9d6cd1047afc942719ac172c2506db +DE/catalogs/92118) here you can see the product range. All of them have HAL sensors and all action is supported by bearings.

See this thread for more info for ordering: http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=82299

If you have a hotas cougar you should set on gameport versions, else go for usb. Orders are direct to german maker, mine took some 2 weeks to arrive, but you must give your credit card number.

Seen that pic once at Frugal's, were those a single home made project or it's really a comercial add on? Either way, they look very nice!

Simpeds are a bit nicer (and pricier) but CH Pro pedals are quite nice and sturdy as h3ll. They also fit into my pit more easily. I've entertained the thought of picking up some Simpeds, but the CH just work so flawlessly for me so far (2years and counting)

Have had my Simpeds for almost 3 years now and they are wonderful. Feel right and are just as responsive today as the day I received them. If and when they die I will order another set immediately...

I would be interested in the pedal for my Simped too. Were to get them at?
