Hi,

I've recently been thinking about trying a Sub sim like Silent Hunter III or IV.

But, being the skint, potless, hard up, and generally stoney broke public sector employee that I am, I thought I'd see if there was a free Sub sim out there before I parted mith any cash.

Lo and behold, there is, Danger From The Deep (DangerDeep to its friends). See http://www.dangerdeep.net/

I just wondered if anyone here had given it a try?

The screenies dont look to bad to me :

Heyyyy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Never heard of it myself, but those screenies sure look good... So how about giving it a try yourself HL and then report back to us, eh?

Thanks for the find m8!

It's only alpha right now. No DM, oversimplified physics, crappy AI etc. Should be nice when it's done.

I've been wanting to get Silenthunter 4 for a while now... This looks like it'll be a sweet alternative when they get things fine-tuned and in gear.

Try this demo...http://www.3dgamers.com/games/enigma/

This game is very good, they just haven't finished multiplayer yet.(working on it now).

It uses voice activation for all of the commands if you want, along with crew voice response.

I have had the full game for some time now, and I love it.

Looks to be some good stuff on the horizon then.

Ive downloaded DangerDeep anyway, and will give it a go probably over the weekend.

Definately one to keep an eye on http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

According to the hard-core sub simmers, it is everything SILENT HUNTER 3 is not---a real sub sim with all the trimmings with no compromises so it will not be for everybody.

Well, that's what I'm looking for. I've been interested in subs as far as I can remember... One of my favorite books has to be Blind Man's Bluff.

...Lets hope so.

Anyway, I've just installed version 0.2.0

Here is a short vid showing the water effects (such as they are at 15fps http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif)

Just have to read the manual now.
