...Yup, got my copy in the mail from Gogamer (thanks Jason! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif )today after taking my awesome girlfriend out for a wonderful dinner. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif
Once she left for home, I made a beeline straight for my puter and keeping in mind all the problems some of you had already, I deleted my current 4.05 setup after making a DVD copy.

Then, I defragged my D: drive (made for playing games only) then restarted my computer.
Once running again, I popped in the DVD and loaded it up in it's own folder. I did the usual
registering and setting up the game settings and modified the config file (I did NOT replace it with the 4.05 and you should NOT do so as the new 4.07 has some new lines added) so the settings was the same as the earlier 4.05.
Then I restarted my computer again and once I got the game running, I made the necessary changes for the video, sound, input for the joystick etc.
Then for the last 2 hours, I flew most of the new airplanes for a test hop.
Out of all the new jets, I like the Yak15 the best, flies fast, has good roll and turns very well and sharply I might add. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

The MiG 9 was ok. Kinda slow to me and the roll was slllooowwwwww for my taste. But damit that huge cannon in front of the intake as got such a bad breath it gives the engine a bad case of vapor lock. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
And before ya know it, Lookie Sweetheart! no engine power!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif
Yup, it flamed out and right after I was completing a strafing run on some trees...guess the trees beat me huh?
Anyhow, I did a wheels up landing and well, drank a shot glass of Vodka coz I was able to walk away from that mess. (Shermonff is good stuff ya know) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Next up was the Yak 3 V107...one word....SAWWEEETT! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif
I found a new second love! (My GF is first) Flying that Yak 3 was like a dream, rolls very good, turns on a dime and has good power for the climb. It also accelerates well in my opinion too. I'm very confident this is gonna give some of them 109's and 190's some headaches! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Flew the Do-335 V13 (Production version was the Do-335B2) and again I was in love! There I was flying down on a 30-40 degree dive from 2000 meters and let loose all 4 guns. Lets just say I laughed the devilish laugh and said "I HAVE THE POWER"! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif
Can you say, tank buster anyone? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Next up was the He-162C and D versions.
Flew pretty much like the A1 but I did notice the C version had a slower roll....of course it's due to that larger wing. It's also more stable due to that larger wing too. But the ammo load is light, so make sure each and every shot counts! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Flew the Fw-190C....very nice! Good power and them X-4 missles were....well different. Just make sure you sneak up so ya get in some good shots and get the BLEEP outta there or the escort is gonna eat you for lunch. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Ta-185....now this is a nice airplane http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Rolls slow, but once ya get yer speed up it's nice and fast. (Z N B anyone?) Not the best, but it's not the worst either. It's best asset is it's 4 X-4 missile loadout. If I was in a Bomber and saw a flight of these getting in range and my escort was nowhere in sight, ya just mise well go ahead and hit the silk and live unless ya got a laser cannon in the tail. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif
Last for tonight was the He...Lerch..whatever it's called.
Can you say POWER? Dang that thing has got plenty and flies very well too. However, I died in it doing something I don?t think anyone should be doing in that contraption. I went strafing some trees (again) and that thing picked up speed so fast I did not catch the build up in time and the bleepin thing just broke up around 820kmph and I ended up vaporized in a hole where the tree was. At least I got the tree....sigh. Never mind trying to land that sucker...(that's for another day) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif
(Humm...I wonder if Oleg and gang somehow gave the trees some power like the Ents from that movie series "Lord of the Rings") http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

So how was the flight model? First impression is I see some improvement for me. Smoother, more docile and simply spins are more predictable. But I also noticed the improvement in the warnings when your about to stall. I dunno if they tweaked this or not, but to me I noticed an improvement. Could be the flight model has an effect on all aspects? Stall, roll, snaps etc. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif
Tomorrow, I'll give the other new stuff a spin and see what else is good. (Or not good)

Was my purchase worth it? Ohhh yeah! I got my money's worth alright!
Way to go Oleg and gang! two thumbs up!

Very professional review.A few opinions....What about the new sounds? And dont you miss the second 50 cal in the new Yak 3?Id sooner have 2x 0.30s than a single 0.50 at least in 4.05.Now I do think that maybe the 50s are beefed up a bit in 4.07 but even still Id prefer have that second mg.Come to think of it I reckon even the 0.30s are a bit more potent at least I find the new puny (but balletic!) early Japanese fighters arent THAT weak and seem stronger than the old 4.05 Ki43a.
Flight model does SEEM (again that word)to have changed for the easier especially the shock absorbers /dampers in the undercarriage.
Of course this is all personal opinion but theres no doubt that the sounds have changed for sure

Wow thanks for the complements guys N gals! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif
As for the new sounds. To be honest, I was really not paying attention to the noise as I was like a little kid in a candy store just flying the flippin things. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

As for the gun loadout for the Yak 3 V107, I'll take a second look as I thought I saw 2 guns goin off when I pulled the trigger. I also was under the impression they were 20mm cannons...I'll check that one out too! If they are 20mm pop guns, then it should do well. If they are two or one Russkie .50's then someone over the Ural Mountains drank too much Vodka one night when they selected the guns for this one! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif

The only plane I landed in last night was the Yak 15. And had no trouble what so ever as honestly I spent many hours long ago learning best how to land lots of different airplanes. So I got good at it (Or good enough so it did not break up on me) and never busted up a kite for every other kill I made. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif

My sound system I have is a good one as it's a 32bit sound system on the motherboard and I also have a Bose speaker system for it. So the sounds have always been great to me and I promise I will pay more attention now that I'm awake, fresh and ready to go kill some more trees. (or die tryin for that matter...Ent powered trees me suspects ya know) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

So now I'm gonna have me a cup O Coffe and off in the Blue yonder....or is that wonder? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif
Oh yeah, I forgot to say I also flew the new George last night. (oops...well it WAS late and me ol eyes were gettin droopy and that one shot glass of Vodka mellowed me pretty good!)

The George was a delight to fly. But it also demand respect too. Both from flying it (I did a stall and it snapped to the left on me. However, them butterfly flaps popped out and was under control after two flips. I dunno if them devices had anything to do with that or I was just one lucky SOB. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Keep in mind I was at 500-600 meters in height from the ground too. So that was a blessing. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif
Anyhow, off to fly some more before girlfriend comes over! I'll report back when I got the time! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Please post your observerations as well guys N gals! These are just my opinion and I'd love to hear ya'lls personal opinion!
Off to fly.....ZOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM........<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Jadehawk

the problem with the 185 is that engines heat like the hell ^^ too much for me, and before being eable to achive hight speed you are a really easy target. At slow speed the 185 is one of the worst plane i ever used. But, when you got speed..when you got it...its really nice to fly.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
