While I was surfing on internet, I've noticed an interesting thing.
Most of us know the highest viewpoint in game.
It is on the top of a cathedral in Acre.
Here are some pictures of Notre Dame.
Is that cathedral based on it?

Welcome to the Forums http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I don't think it's the same but they may have taken some designs from it because from certain angles it does look very similar.

I also think they're not same.
Notre Dame is bigger than that cathedral.
We can see the difference of shapes.
I just think it is based on Notre Dame.
Because some parts are extremely same.

It's because both of the cathedrals are built on the theme of gothic architecture. I don't think their based on each other, because Notre Dame is much more grand, but having the same achitectual style, their bound to have similarities.

Think of it this way. There have been lots of fanarts of Ezio made; a lot of them look pretty similar. That doesn't mean that they're based on eachother. They're obivously based on Ezio, who in this analogy represents the gothic architecture theme.

yh but its so alike, that its likely for the acre cathedral to be based on it

I would say the cathedral in Acre definately influenced this design. The Dome of the Rock (http://www.jerusalem.com/_media/userfiles/2/424/451.jpg) has also influenced the designs of many other buildings, both in the East and the West.

isnt all of the more "important" buildings in AC 1 (like AC2) based on real buildings, or has the acre cathedral been destroyed since theres no one that have a picture?

you only found 1? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Andrew's_Cathedral)

also remember things change name over time or the names can be lost until you actually find out what the cathedral there is named as now you wont find it's history.
