The 310th/380th have just expanded our library of flight panels to include the PF Allied AC. We are currently working on the Axis side and will have them posted in a few days as well. To access go to...

As always, constructive suggestions are welcome.

Rudi,
Thanks for your comment. Yes, the Hellcat will be there shortly. It's done actually, but appears I didn't get it uploaded. Thanks for pointing that out!

Bear, thanks man! Appreciate you double checking on our "Sturmovik Essential" status. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif S!

Exellent work!
Really appreaciated http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

To be really picky http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif- You could include the gear up/dn indicator in the Wildcat series. Quiet handy to know when the gear is fully ext-/retracted in those non-external-view environments.

Good suggestion Buzzer. We'll make sure to get that in with the next round of changes. S!

Dumb question, but does any one of these make the AI aircraft flyable?

No, these are references to help you find your way around the cockpits of aircraft that are already flyable.

Yes. It's actually listed as the B-239 on the Axis side. The AC in our list is segmented by country of origin (manufacture). But I think you will only see it if you have the full FB+AEP+PF install.

Great work. Thank you! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Personally, I have not problems with orientation in instruments, but some of my squadmates have. This will help them very much.

Er....... the B-239 is listed with an 1850 hp engine- I wish!!!!!!!! In reality the B-239 had a 900 hp Cyclone and even the most powerful variants had no more than 1200 hp (B-339D, F2A-2 and F2A-3). With that kind of engine performance available, the Buff would have made mincemeat of La-5s and La-7s as well as chomping on Yaks and spitting out the remains- not to mention chewing up anything the IJN and IJAAF could throw at it.

Dizz_310th
11-13-2004, 09:24 AM
Gerrit,
The 1850 HP reference comes from the ac description provided by UBI in the original FB documentation (page 49) on CD 2. I'll be the first to admit that it could be incorrect (I haven't a clue), but I elect to use that data until it is shown to be otherwise wrong. Thanks for you comment tho...very much appreciated. S!

As Commanding Officer of the 310th Fighter Squadron I would like to take the time to thank
Capt. Dean (Dizz) & Maj. Hastings (Tug) for their continued hard work & dedication to our little show piece.

310th web site- this month celebrating 1,000,000 hits! in under 1 yr in operation! (http://www.310thvfs.com)

Tug since he's grounded with computer problems yet he still seems to find time to continue his tireless work on our web site and doing the hardest parts (coding) all by himself. And not getting to fly at all, but still he supports us.

Dizz for his obvious artistic talents and dedication to expanding our web content and features he are proud to try and provide for our fellow pilots & squadrons as well as the world wide IL2 community.

It is because of people such these that we as a group have continued to last almost 3 1/3 years now...even when others thought we would fail miserably. Admit ably we may not be the best bunch of virtual pilots on the net....but we do have and strive to obtain the BEST PEOPLE out there...all of which are close friends who interact with each other on a daily basis.
When I in the past have gotten bored with the sim or was just ready to say to hell with it all...it was the thought of these guys...the guys that make up our 3 joint squadrons...that kept me involved.

While I will on occasion be more outspoken than some of our other members (even to the point that Crazy Ivan & the mods want to give me a swift kick in the @ss) it is because of the quality of the rest of our group that makes us IMO one of the best dam Allied squadrons around.

In the future we plan a lot of good stuff top help support the community in various ways including additional content on our web site.

Last month we elected to give our full official support to what we think is the best server on Hyper Lobby by becoming the official sponsor squadron of Warclouds Pacific. Member contributions from our 3 squadrons now make a joint monthly contribution to the continued support of Sparx & the warclouds admin team by doing our part to help this great server stay operational for the enjoyment of the entire community. Over the past few months WC has become our preferred server on HL and we are doing our best to help support them in kind. I would like to also encourage anyone else that is a regular or just likes the server to meet the same show of gratitude by helping support Warclouds in whatever way you can. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Our group strives to provide an atmosphere of fun, camaraderie and sportsmanship. We also try (despite my big mouth at times lol) to be good stewards with in our community. We like to think that we have something to offer virtual pilots no matter what thier interests are. We began as one of the 1st Pacific Theater Squadrons over 3 yrs ago...we formed the 1st USAAF bomb group in IL-2 with the 380th VBG (also a 5th AF historical unit) and we now have endeavored to create the 1st dedicated USAAF Night Fighter Squadron in this sim with the 418th NFS. So what ever you interest we strive to have something to suit everyone. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Basically we do things like the flight panels for the love and support of this sim...our hobby. &nd to contenuie to support this great big family of IL-2/FB/PF sim junkies. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Copperhead, Dizz, Tug, et.al., thanks for the effort, and the results. I've bookmarked your site and downloaded all the images for reference. This is very useful stuff, and very appreciated. My only regret is that 1C didn't see fit to include something like this in the first place. Lack of time/resources no doubt. Thanks for stepping in and picking up the slack.

well i'm sure that if Oleg would like to have them Dizz would be glad to send him what we have.

Dizz & I did a bunch of the US regimental squadron insignia for PF....but due to Luthier being unreachable and haveing no other source to send the file to....they did not make the intial release. we're hoping for a patch or add on now to get them in. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
