Hey all does anyone else think its pretty ridiculous that landing a damaged engine plane results in a "Crashed landed" resulting in 0 points. Same with a propstrike so whats the point of belly landing?

I understand if it wasnt there alot of online pilots would belly land to recieve thier points quicker then landing and coming to a full stop but 0 points for surviving dont float.

I was wondering what people would think about 0 points from tearing a wing off on a belly landing rather then engine damage or propstrike resulting in 0 points.

It's can be annoying, but a few things I've learned about online point scoring:

1. If you took damage during the flight, sometimes not even severe, you may get the crash-landed message upon landing and respawning, resulting in 10% of your earned points.

2. If #1 happened and you survived the landing, bailing will give you 70% on the ground. 50% for bailing in the air for a damaged plane, 0 points for bailing out of an undamaged plane.

3. If you didn't see the "Enemy Aircraft Destroyed" message on screen, either someone else did more damage, hit the dying plane with 1 bullet after you or the bogey lagged on impact and the host server didn't detect their death. Sometimes this is intentional by the player to avoid the other scoring points./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I always make it a point to land and bail if I took major, and sometimes not so major damage, during the flight. Unless of course, the guy who did the damage gets killed before you land, then you're usually ok to just land and respawn./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Hello LeadSpitter,

I think if you downed an enemy aircraft and crashland anywhere you get 70 points (in friendly territory), but only if you bail out and re-start rather than just re-start.

Also if your aircraft is damaged and you make an accidental bad landing.. the enemy pilot gets "enemy aircraft destroyed" if he scored hits on you before you made your way home.

hope this adds input http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
