View Full Version : What I've noticed with the new exe !!!

I've noticed that the microstutters for speech and graphics are a little worse, where with the old exe, it turned out to be as smooth as glass.

I've also noticed, by using the old exe, I loose about 5 fps compared to when I use the new one.

Nonetheless, I'm very appreciative for the patch. It's outstanding. And like I've said before, I love this game.

Noticed the same things here. Went back to the old exe to get rid of the stutters. I'm running an AMD 3200+ and 6800 GT so it's not a hourse power issue.

Just tried it. It crashed--fatal crash something message box. But I could still terminate the process in Windows Task Manager. Went back to fp_old.exe lol.

I also have a problem with stutters now that I didn't have before.

Just make sure you all report the increased stutters in the Bug Reporting Link

Yeah, I have same thing here; micro stutters with sound about every 5 seconds. I deleted the new .exe along with the r-jet file. went back to the 'old' .exe. I hope oleg and crew dont plan adding the new.exe in the next patch.

The new exe works fine here and using it the game seems to load up quicker but maps load up the same.

With the old .exe I lost 7/8% FPS, but still it runs much smoother apparently.
Moreover, it loads WAY quicker. I like it.

I found the spiky pauses that were most annoying in online play, gone.
I never had "stutters" on my machine.
Online seemed to be smooth as
Hit sounds were there too :-)
Oh and the carrier flak, mmm ummm

There might be some comment on US plane's handling though.
Mixture seemed to be working better and effective.
Man don't get me started on the water, it looks great.
The plane in the distance dots, mmmmm, well, errr, oh well. They be big, black and gnatish.

Yes new exe loads faster, but will not generate campaign missions properly. Also, noticed some graphical problems and stutters. Old exe works seems to work fine though.

Not only the new .exe loads faster, but the old one too!

Wow, I'm shocked...my 'new' version runs as smooth as silk on a 1.1 ghz rig w/512 DDR. I was just thinking I hope all future patches are 'new'.

My observations:

The new .exe loads a LOT faster (couple of seconds as opposed to over a minute), ALL microstutters and 1 FPS freezes are gone, as well as an 20% increase in average FPS.

And that's still with the 4.9 catalysts, not the recommended 4.11 drivers.

I have an old AMD XP-2100 with a TI-4600 Ultra and I get better FPS with the new.exe and did not notice any more stutters than the old.exe either. So the new one is the one I'll use from now on.
I am getting about 10% better FPS with the new one!! Seems to do wonders for older machines. Maybe it's worse for new PCs but better for older ones??

I just hate having to use my CD.. its a good thing I have 2 drives. That puppy stays in there now. The burner is free to use if I have to but PF stays in the ROM drive.
