Welcome to IRON SKIES for IL2:FB

Iron Skies (tm) is a persistent online coop campaign. The immersive aspect of Iron Skies is that it is played out on top of an Avalon Hill style desktop wargame from the 1970's. Two opposing general staffs are playing out a wargame, and your coop mission performance in IL2:FB directly influences the outcome of the ground war! You can increase damage against enemy divisions, decrease available supply pts, and directly influence many aspects of how the ground generals play out their orders.

Another interesting aspect of Iron Skies is that each side also has a mapmaking staff that creates one side of the coop missions. There are specific rules as to what objects may be placed and in what manner. Both sides do not know what the other side plans in their half of the mission file. The two are merged, and the resulting coop is run for half a week's time. The results of each half week segment are tabulated and applied to a 'turn week' of the underlying "wargame". The rest, is a fully roleplayed campaign full of extraordinary pilots of amazing bravery.Members are encouraged to submit fully roleplayed war stories for posting on the website! Take part in re-writing history!

See website for several links that are not included in this text only intro.

NOTE: This is an invite (voucher) only campaign. Your squadron will need to be vouched for by existing members for acceptance. Please note there is a "registration process" link at our main page with more information on that process. If you dont KNOW a squadron on the membership lists (see forums for that memership list), then try and get in contact with one of the listed squadrons and take some time out of your schedules to get to know them ; then ask for a 'nod' for potential registration. The general rule of thumb in acceptence to Iron Skies is honorable behavior in communications with fellow and opposing pilots.

WEBSITE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS : REPORTING UPDATES COMING SOON FROM THE WAR CURRENTLY BEING RUN!

It's not a problem to bump such posts Murdoc.

Could you please tell me if there are enough people participating in IS and what are the times they usually join?

I ask this cause most of the times this lobby is empty.
