Alright, i've used the HE-111 a lot and noticed when i put the airplane on autopilot, when its under attack, a barrel at the backside of the plane fires directly backwards, and i cant figure out how to fire it. And i made sure that i wasnt just seeing things, it happens a lot, does anyone know how to fire this gun. I'm positive it works, i just dont know how. Does anyone?

ITs a bug. Sometimes when the belly gunner (called Ventral gunner) Who is facing backwards fires, the Muzzle Flash comes from the back of teh tail instead of the gun.

but its not just the flash, the bullet comes out.

Part of the bug also. You'll notice if your bottom gunner dies or runs out of ammo this does not happen. I think it has something to do with the viewing angles

In the older 3D model of the He-111, one could see that there was the barrel of a machine gun in the tail of the aircraft. I am guessing that it was a rigidly mounted gun, with the primary purpose of scaring enemy fighters away from its relatively unprotected tail.

Several US bmbers used that as well, mounting a light machinegun or two in the tail, with the intent of disueding enemy fighters from getting to close. It didn't work so well, but when ones' life is on the line, one is willing to try just about anything.

It's not a bug...

One model of the He-111 had a rear-facing 20mm cannon right at the tail of the plane. IIRC the pilot or top-gunner fired it by remote.

Its not a bug, its a real gun or MG there, I have no clue how to fire it, I would only presume maybe the top or ventral gunners fired it, because both have oberservation at the rear.

There's a tail mounted gun in the late model he-111 in FB.I noticed this several mounths ago too and never posted the question on how to fire the tail gun when flying/crewing the plane. I haven't been able to figure out how to fire it. I even looked for an assignable key in the control panel menue. Does anyone knows how to fire it or if it's a bug/oversight? I would appriciate correct answer. Thank you much.

some H6 varients had a mg17 in the tailcone. Im not sure who used it but i believe it was a fixed gun.
