Hi. I'm new to these forums and just got into the game. What I noticed in some of the discussion threads I read is that jumping is automatic. Is there any way that you can turn automatic off and jump on your own. Like pressing X on the Ps3 to jump. Thanks

I suppose you can hit A (xbox) every time you get near your next platform, but that'd be redundant.

well, if you notice of the new e3 demo, when he is at the top of the tower, in the top right it says (A) jump
so maybe you press it and in the sircumstance it would do the jump that would be nessecary. i predict that it would be like hitman - bllodmoney

I was thinking more of Zelda Twilight Princess.
Link jumps on his own and it works fine.

**Off-Topic** He's actually a Hylian who was living with the elves I believe. That's the reason he never had a fairy before Navi if I remember correctly.

the whole auto jumping thing is coming from the hold a button to freerun thing. you hold a button, and move the joystick, and he automatically does his parkour stuff like running up walls & whatnot. you still control him though.

so yes. A/X = jump. he just makes the jumps fancy by himself.

I think that something was mentioned about pressing different buttons (hands, feet, etc.) netting different types of jumps. (eg: pressing hands you would vault yourself over the obstacle, pressing feet you would hop over it etc.)

@chewie
Well, the story has changed pretty often hasn't it?
In Twilight Princess he's the same as everyone else in the village, and he's got pretty damn big ears.

The Link in Twilight Princess wasn't supposed to be the Link from a game like, let's say, Ocarina of Time. All of them are different people possibly descendants of the original Link. They all have a destiny to follow. They're all required to take up the Master Sword and complete their destiny of heroism. That's always been my understanding of the series at least. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

It depends on the situation for what moves will be available. Sometimes for the feet controls "jump" is displayed and you have to hit it to jump. I'm guessing you will have to hold the modifier which is (right trigger) so the bottom button (feet controls) change from "blend" to "jump". For example, watch the beginning of part 1 (of 3) E3 HD demo from gametrailers.com and you can see he starts to run and "free run" is now the feet option. You can see it flash a color as he taps it at the end of the roof and the player jumps. Same when he approaches one of the guards from the back and instead of killing him he starts to move quickly and jumps off the wall. Again you can see the jump button get tapped.

I think it'll be like in Gears of War, so you tap the button to do something. For example, theres three beams, if you want to jump on then you tap A (xbox), but if you want to swing under or grab you'd tap B, and if you didn't press anything then you'd either stop on the beam or fall off.

But thats just what I think.

I think when you are holding down the free run button then he will automatically jump according to the direction you are goin. All you have to do is direct him and he'll do it for you. It is way better than pushing the A button hundreds to thousands of times.
