Aside from the movie stuff, which I want to get into, (I love it!) it seems to me that you should be able to e-mail a track file to a friend with the same game, and put it in the recording folder so he can watch it too! wrong? right? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif I'm not ready for online yet.

Yes - you can do that. I suggest you use the .ntrk type recordings. You can zip or rar the file and email it no problem.

I suggest you give the track a unique filename, like buzz1, buzz2 or whatever. This will prevent your file overwriting another when your friend adds it to his track folder.

thanks Brando... I hadn't thought of that, can you just rename it in the folder?

Yes.

Also note that tracks will only play properly in the version of the game that they were recorded in.

Click on my FW-190D sig you'll find several tracks online/offline and they will all work... just make sure that you read the README if it is provided with the file.

About tracks, here is the deal:
-TRK will work only on same game version that they were recorded in; e.g. V4.08 TRK will only work on game version V4.08
-NTRK (online mode, but can be used to record offline too) will work properly on any game version. Only exception is if you try to play a track that contains objects unsupported by your game version. But take note that this will happen only if you try to play for instance V4.08 NTRK with Tempest aircraft on V3.00 game version. Tempest was introduced in V4.02 IIRC so it wont show up in game version V3.00.

Also quite common question is "why my tracks don't work"?
There are two usual reasons besides unsupported game version, and both of those involve ONLY TRK format:
-track is out of sync because acceleration/deceleration was used during recording procedure
-track is out of sync due to bad recording which occurs when map is heavily populated with objects (for instance Pacific Islands QMB map which is filled with palm trees)

Related to it, you can rename tracks, share tracks... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Thanks guys.. I truly appreciate you takeing the time to explain this stuff in a way that an old noob can understand, I guess I'm trying to fulfill a fantasy I've had for many years, I had a regular passenger in the Alaska bush, who was a retired airforce colonel, with missions in Europe, on one of those nasty days, he was looking out the winshield and chomping on his cigar, and he said (you would have made a great fighter pilot) he's gone now, but I've always wonderd! when I watch my tracks, I realize that he might have been right, problem is, I don't know if I've got enough years left to learn all this computer stuff, I have 3.00 and it looks like I'm out of luck for sharing with most, the patches seem to be causing problems, so I guess I'll try to figure out how to convert ntrk to mpeg so I can at least watch or burn with out being in the game. thanks again!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif
