View Full Version : Points Clarification

~S~ All,

While flying in Hyperlobby recently, I was accidentally crippled by my own teammate but I managed to land my plane and not die in the process €¦.. Why was he awarded -300 points? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

This leads me to my next question €¦.. If you manage to land your aircraft after being crippled by an opposing team member, will you deny them any points for being alive? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Thank you for your responses.

For shooting down 1 of your own you need to shot 4 enemy planes and land to have 0 points .)

If you are shotup by enemy he will got the points even if you manage to limp back home.

If you are damaged by teammate he will got -400 pts if you land before him.

If aircraft is damaged by flak no one got the points for his destruction.(I don't know if this works if it is team kill in question).

For destruction of one engined aircraft you got 100, two engines 200, four engines 400 pts. For teammate -400 regardless of his ride.

Happens to me quite often on bomber-escort mission. When I am on dead 6 of a fighter that is attacking friendly bomber, sometimes I hit friendly bomber as well with a bullet or two, and altough there is no visible or functional damage, I get -400. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Seems to me that every slightest scratch on a friendly will get you -400 points if he lands or crashes before u do...

~S~ Kuna and Tigertalon,

Thank you for the clarification ..... Is it -300 or -400 for a Friendly Kill?

It seems like an awfully high price to pay, but then I guess it is a lesson (hopefully) well learned.

I'm certain it's -300 for a friendly. I used to do a lot of embarassing friendly kills when I first started playing on no icon servers, so I should know http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

And a big sorry to all those guys I accidentally shot down...

As to the other parts of the question. Score is allocated (-300, 100, 200 or 400) if the aircraft crashlands, even if the pilot survives. The only way to deny your protagonist a kill is to land successfully at the airfield (actually, you just have to be ON the airfield...I believe even a belly landing denies the kill, then.)

Often I've had that 'Enemy Aircraft Destroyed' pop up 5 or 10 minutes later and I'll think - "who did I kill? I was just landing!"

People don't get that out of me - I never get far enough away from the combat before I'm down in flames http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

It was -400 for a friendly in the early versions of the game but somewhere along the line the magnitude of the penalty has been dropped to -300.

~S~ Tully,

Thank you for responding .... I thought it was -300 but needed to be sure.

~S~ Junko,

I am a little confused now .... You say that "The only way to deny your protagonist a kill is to land successfully at the airfield (actually, you just have to be ON the airfield...I believe even a belly landing denies the kill, then.)"?

Does this mean after they have landed because I was getting the impression that even a safe landing would still aloow them to get points (if they were in the air)?

You can crash land in field, bail out, land in your base, but if he's damaged your plane it means he will be credited for the destruction of your plane. Sometimes a bullet(s) of smaller calibre wont count if damage isn't visible (but sometimes they will), but 20mms counts EVERY time in my experience. So you can as well put ONLY one 20mm shell in enemy aircraft and then head towards base. If he lands before you do, you will get the points. It is that simple.
