http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif OK so which patch WHENEVER is goin to fix the Spitfires so they are drawn correctly? Both in the pit AND EXTERNALLY,so freeking much complainin over flight models while glaring errors in modelling(read DRAWING) remain unfixed. The spit was one of the most aesthetically pleasing planes to look at,as it sits now............ http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif.FOR STARTERS the TAIL IS WRONG WRONG WRONG,next THE BLOODY BOLTS IN THE PIT!!!It took forever to get the jug finally workable(Flight model, guns) but the Spit, although a dream to fly, aint good to look at.Don't believe me???Have a look at a REAL spit 9.Look at the tail especially, then look at the tail of this games Spit 9.

About the tail, are you reffering to the vertical stabilizer? i think there were two dinstinct version, the "round one" wich was used on the early model and the "sharp one" used from Mk.V onward.

I suggest you take a spin in the MkVIII, it certainly looks more slender than the V and IX. I'm guessing it's a different 3D model.

I always though the nose on the IX model is a little bit to short. The VIII looks like a totally different model, even the DM is different.

Anyone notice on the VIII when the wing gets taken off the internals are green and theres a light source shining on the side of the engine like one of the guns is firing?

twister, you need to get a grip, amn

ever see a pic of a mk IX or VIII cockpit? those bolts are there for the armored glass....your ewelcome to remove it if you want......

and the tail IS correct...later production Mk VIIIs, and then Mk IXs had this "broad chord" rudder fitted, replacing the older rounder one

Everyone has a right to air or voice concerns, but unless you have some s h i t - h o t concrete righteous proof under your arm, then pleae dont go steamin and yellinig about it, keep it civil, eh?

All you had to do was ask about the tail of the spit, if it was correct or not, and confirm if you have a legit complaint first....I, or anyone else still would have told you nothing is wrong with the spits tail change

I thought he was going to talk about the textures or the RAF roundels which aren't as good as others. Well the textures are fine, its the markings on them and the fin-flash which is terrible. But I've already done my bit with sending Oleg details of this and nothing has happened so I don't expect it to happen but its still very ugly.

The tail is correct. Its a late model LF IX with a broad chord rudder. This is historically correct. Same with the VIII's. I can provide pictures if you don't believe me.

The cockpit I find very accurate. Very beautifully done actually! Looks just like the XVI I got a closer look at.

I too am very very disappointed about the bolts in the Spitfires cockpit! Everyone knows they should be 4mm lower than they appear in the game! HOW COULD OLEG LET SUCH AN AGREGIOUS ERROR MAKE IT THROUGH BETA TESTING??

I, for one, think this is an OUTRAGE, and plan on organizing a local rally to protest this crime, and call for Oleg's immediate incarsiration!

Be sure!

Have a look at this Spitfire LF IX at Duxford:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Spitfire.611pix.jpg

Also read this comment:
"As a result of its over-powerful engine and four bladed propeller, the Mk. IX had a tendency to swing to one side during takeoff. This was solved by fitting a larger rudder, giving the pilot better control during takeoff."
Shocking what you can learn if you open your mind a bit and do some research. The Spitfire IX's you're looking at are 1942 and 1943 F IX's equipped with a Merlin 61 engine which has a supercharger designed to kick in above 20,000 feet.

The LF IX's were modified versions of the same plane, many of which were also modified with improved broad chord rudders, gyro gunsights, and the new E type of wing armament. They had a Merlin 66 engine which kicked in at 16,000 feet which gave them better speed at all altitude to their closest FW190 competitor.

Or better yet, model it yourself! =S=

I just got out of jail. I tried to rally my community, but no one seemed responsive to this outrage! So, I stood outside city hall with a bullhorn calling upon local officals to take action by collecting copies of all 1C products and holding a public burning. Since I had no other protestors, I had to do something to gain attention, so I rallied naked, with the words "DOWN WITH 1C", and an arrow pointing towards my nether regions, painted on me ar$e. The authorities promptly arrested me.

Fortunately, the Station Chief flies the spitfire, and was appauled to hear about the cockpit bolts. He quickly set me free.

My lawyer contacted me today and said my civil liberties were trampled upon. We plan on suing the city for 45 million dollars.

Be careful with what you say when using the characters "1" and "C" in the same sentence, CRASH, the other week my thread was locked when I pointed out that the noob types ki84 1C and F4U 1C also shared part of thier nomenclature with a software company that shall remain nameless, but YOU know who Im talking about, hehe
