View Full Version : Team Killers Are Getting Pretty Lazy These Days.

What ever happened to the good old days when team killers would at least take off before they tried to shoot you down? Now they just load themselves in a TB and sit on the parking ramp waiting for players to re-spawn, then they just shoot the crap out of them. A couple of days ago one of these idiots joined the server I was on (check pics) and the little bast*rd stayed for about 40mins. I've seen this exact thing 3 times now over the past few weeks and I just can't figure out why they think its so fun to just sit there manning the guns waiting for team mates to spawn.

I must say the only reason triggerhappyfin, has a minus score is because he took the responsibility of ramming/shooting Socialdemokrat so we could at least take off.

Thanks for the comment on my minuspoints.

I cant stand teamkillers - I do try to kill them if possible, sometimes they chance sides when I am hunting them and I follow them to try to make them give up.

In the cases the TK chances sides there should be somebody on each field to welcome them and destroy them.

The latest TK trick I´ve seen is on scripted servers killing them selves over and over again to make one of sides to loose the game.

Teamkilling is a phenomena I don´t understand and very much hate.

NONONONO, no negative scoring limit please.

I fly alot of Full real servers and sometimes, it is really hard to say to wich side another plane belongs. It happens once or twice that you shoot down or, get shot down by a friendly plane. It is the risk but, also the challenge in FR servers. Allowing a negative scoring limit, endangers the existence the full-real servers wich are allready very rare.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

shall be judged: and with what

-400 is only a kill and a third negative.

One team kill is -300. I had one incident where me and a wingman were chasing an enemy bandit. Well, another guy in a Fw-190 from our team took the bandit head on, and inadvertantly shot the wing off my wingman. I was trailing, and ended up first ramming my wingman (which destroyed him), then, minus my wing, I spun into the oncoming 190 and took him out too. The best part is that I was creditted with BOTH friendly kills. And the bandit got away /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I have received -400 before when I was rammed by a Tker that had run out of ammo. He hit me from behind yet still I got the negative points. An auto boot feature for negative points is stupid in this game, because the point system doesn't really work in the first place.

I saw that TB3 and couldn't work out what the hell he was doing. When I passed him he seemed to be firing continuously into the ground. I assumed he was drunk or something.

As said above - the point system needs work in DF servers before TK'ers are booted by it /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif I think though that by the time you hit -1500 points it is pretty obvious you are up to no good /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The host is as much at fault IMO. He should have kicked him right away. It's simple and easy to do. I'm very surprised he didn't. If he tried that crap in a game I was hosting, he'd get the boot post-haste. I may even have banned his IP.

Looks like the host was not present (note the white name tag) so I guess that's why.

Otherwise - yes a host would normally boot after 2 or 3 TK's

Bogey runs what I think is a 24hr server and he wasn't actually in the room at the time but if he was he would have kicked his sorry A$$. I can't remember what his final score was but that screen shot I posted was about half way though his tking session.

scripted servers have the ability to auto ban TKers. I believe it takes more into account than just -pts, but it does take awhile as they have to rack up a good -1400pts or so before they are booted.

XyZspineZyX
06-30-2003, 06:37 AM
TriggerhappyFin has the right idea, one or two of you just keep killing the Tker, if there is a damaged plane on the strip it is harder for him to respawn and when they change sides you stick with them until even there tiny little minds except defeat.

Fortuantely there skills and intelligence are usually in the lower region, as both virtual pilots and human beings, so they are not very difficult to shoot down.

Please no negative score bans or you will have TKers crashing into you causing innocents to be banned, There mummies usually finish with there last trick for the night then send little jonnie of to bed anyway /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Someone once posted a special "Team Killer Hunter" skin for an Il-2. It was yellow for easy spotting.

The idea was for the other team to head to the TKer's airfield unmolested and have him kill the TKer. He would then loiter waiting for the loser to respawn and kill him again.

It would drive the TKer nuts! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The reason people do it is because it's fun. Call it whatever you like, it's just fun manning your turret and shooting anything that moves.

Manning turrets and blasting planes is fun, but I suggest people do that offline. I have to confess that I have intentionally TKed 1 person online. I blew JimmyGiro (and myself) to mars in an He 111 on the ground. But I was about to close the server and go to sleep. I gave out a 5 minute warning and Jimmy respawned anyways, so he had it coming/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif .

As we all know, the Soviet Union had too many fighter pilots during WW2. So Stalin's scientists came up with a brillient way to solve this problem. They would make some of their pilots fly British made Hurricanes. The Hurricane was an uber flying coffin. It was designed to maximize pilot kills by providing nothing but fabric and a few wooden spars around the cockpit. This setup prevented the pilot from escaping easily while at the same time not interfering with enemy bullets and shrapnel trying to pass through it. The rest of the Hurricanes structure was designed to ricochet bullets and shrapnel into the cockpit. And thanks to the cockpits superb design, all of them would pass through the cockpit and the pilot inside with little difficulty. Of course the Hurricane's designers didn't stop there. In order for the Hurricane to become a flying coffin, they had to make it easy to shoot. They did this by making the Hurricane the slowest monoplane fighter in use at the time and even gave it a very bulky shape so that it would be easy to spot and hit. The final feature of the Hurricane was its ability to bury or cremate itself. And because it was made of biodegradable materials, the Hurricane was environmentally friendly after it buried itself. Because of these brillient features, the Hurricane was a perfect flying coffin and helped the Soviets solve the pilot surplus they were suffering.

But then they wouldn't be having as much fun. Are you really looking out for them, or just yourself?

If people really feel the need to do this - why not do it to your own squadron mates?

Sometimes things get a bit silly on our private servers and this sort of thing CAN be fun (occasionally) but it wears thin fast.

But to do it on a public server is stupid.

I think you should NOT ban ppl according to their points. I once had an incident where i was chasing a bandit. i fired and a friendly must have passed behind the bandit. i didn't see him and i got a teamkill -300 i turned left and my wingie crashed into me. guess! -600. and i haven't even seen any of my friendly kills. I hate it too to get shot by a friendly who is too stupid to look. When you see him coming. you wave your wings you move a bit to show markings. he's still zooming and then boom you are dead.

One great thing would be to change the poin system:

I would introduce part kills cause sometimes you are chasing together and only one gets the kill

Therefore NO points when you crash with someone! So you would not get a teamkill just because of some lag or warp crash. and there wouldn't be noobs who can't shoot a bomber trying to bring him down using their wings.

I have a pack of Yellow (trainer) skins on the homepage which covers most aircraft in the game.
I made them for the good old IL-2, but the will work in FB.
