Get 1946, it is more than worth it. 1946 is in a sense the update to PF.

N1K2 George fighter (flyable) in Il-2 1946. If that is enough Pacific Content for you then you should get Il-2 1946.

Pacific Fighters standalone version stops at v4.04 ... End of Story.

If you want to fly online, you pretty much have to buy IL2:1946 and then get the free 4.08m patch. 1946 eliminates the yaw "feature" in USN/USMC fighters while firing the machine guns. I've also noticed that 1946 averages around 2 frames per second faster rendering than 4.04m.

That's fine then. Il2 1946 has lots of Pacific/CBI content

Imphal map
Ki-27 (flyable)
A5M (Flyable)

Lots of people don't understand that Il2 1946 is not just a what-if scenario

At the very least, if you fly US, you'll appreciate the yaw-dampening with guns in 1946.

Does IL2 1946 have many pacific theatre maps then?

IL2 1946 is IL2 Sturmovik/FB/AEP/PF all on one single DVD disc with new content added all maps all aircraft plus 32new varients.
This is the ultimate and the last of IL2.
read the IL2 1946 review on the opening screen.
