well, the doolittle raid should not be to hard, after all, several people have already taken of in B-25s from carriers, the only problem is that there is no map that goes from the pacific to japan to china, so you would not be able to do the ditching.

A squaddie of mine made the mission and sent it to me...haven't had a chance to fly it yet though. As JB said, there's no ditch, just fly off the edge of the map, but you do get to bomb the JN mainland!

PM me your email addy and I'll send it if you want.

Hi enyawsirrom.

I've done the Yamamoto shoot-down mission, but, just like the Doolittle Raid, there is no map in PF that covers the entire mission. Here is a link to the actual event--not hard to replicate using the FMB, and a little imagination. I'm still trying to figure out a way that allows the players flying the Japanese side to "win" the mission. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

P.S. Anyone out there know the exact makes of the fighters involved (P-38's, and "Zero"?). Also, does anyone know which Japanese squadron was flying escort? I'd like to make the mission reasonably historically accurate.

There is a shortened Doolittle raid in my mission pack under my sig. Enjoy.

We did COOP like that several times http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif It`s not an easy task to take B-25 off the deck with 12x100 lbs bombs and 50% fuel hehe. Usually only very few human piloted 25s are able to do that. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Funny you should mention the Doolittle raid, I'm watching '60 minutes over Tokyo' on the History Channel right now, Pacific time. An excellent documentary so far.

how about making a mini campaign? take off mission and flight, then flight to japan and bomb, then trying to get to mainland with little fuel

That's the best solution I've heard yet. Sounds great.

I've only gotten off a CV doing 30kts with a very light load (wanna say x4 250lb) 50% fuel. Even with this I needed 5 tries http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Don't forget those B25 was modified - some guns removed, lots off armor removed. In War Birds there was this variant specially modeled ..
