My wife forgot the battery on our digital camcorder and I was going to video tape it too... =/

I don't know if your intent was to transer to digital format or make a copy but if you weren't, I'd really like to purchase a copy from you if I can?

I didn't ask the spelling of your nick, but I'm pretty sure you said it was Tolbin...?

Anyway.. after the panel discussion I stuck around and bought the two posters for sale in the hall and had the WWII Pilots sign them, plus I got a big P-51 litho from the gift store and had the four panelists sign that as well, and got a pic with the four of them via my buddy's digital camera.

It was GREAT!

OH! I also forgot to mention that when I was standing around BSing with the guys after the discussion they were telling me all kinds of kick *** stories, including a recollection of an A2A engagement with Zeros vs. their P39s!

The gentleman said that after missing the first bounce on them (but it got them to peel off the A-24's they were attacking) the Zeros turned back into them and he let loose with the 37mm cannon and got a direct hit... said the Zero basically disappeared from the hit... that was one BADNESS cannon! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

He said that it sucked up high and was totally outclassed by the Zero and that's why it got shipped off to Russia (of course, we already know this)... but it was great to just shoot the sheit with these guys and get their perspective. I really could have sat there for days and just soaked it all in.

Great group of fellas.

I especially got a good laugh when the 79 year old gentleman said to ask the other guys about the P-39 because they were the 'old farts'! Hehe..

Never too old to talk some fighter pilot trash.

Anyway... looking forward to talking to ya about it.. hoping I got close enough to the spelling on your tag?

=/

I don't have all the names handy (will post them when I get home tonight) but I do know that the taller gentleman is James Tapp, CO 78th Fighter Group.
