Hi,

Im looking at making myself a twin engine throttle quadrant including mixture and prop controls. Will this work with a merged install of FB+Aces+PF? I have just had a mess round with and old X36 joystick I have in pieces trying to use the 2 axis to control left and right throttle indivdually. Im guessing as I cant get it to work as I would like (I can only control 1 engine at a time and also cant work out how to assign a joystick axis to either the mixture or prop commands) im missing something major out. Any help in this would me much appreciated

Cheers
Matt

prop pitch (for one engine) should be no problem, just assign in the hotas section at the bottom of assignments.

is always worth a read http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

using programming scripts with 'clever' sticks such ch or cougar, and i think with x45/52 you can certainly fudge mixture control on an axis, using banded axes.

the single power axis is another limitation (hopefully this will be 'cured' in bob....please).
personally i fudge it on my cougar using the radio switch on throttle as a left/right/all/none engine select switch. not brilliant but it works.

might be handy for setting 'curves' if you are playing with multiple controllers.

If it is the none USB X36 programming was not really supported by Windows XP that is why it was dropped from the range.......... on my X45 I have the hat button 3 on the front of the throttle unit (to the right of the rudder rockers) set to move the flaps up and down...one push fwd one stage, one back one stage up etc.......... pushing it left selects the left eng........ right the right. the throttle then controls one engine, if not touched for a few secs it then reverts to both engines all be it at the staggered setting you may have........ to get then level you need to select single eng again and balance them......

this is from my settings file if it helps

You could add some "trigger-mechanism" on the lever that toggles the engine you want to manage and after release of the trigger toggles all engines. It should be managable to hold both triggers, in order to toggle all engines too. Atleast if you are able to use SST software to program the x-36. An other method should be assigning two axis as bands. Each band increasing or decreasing a surtain engine in increments of your choice.
