View Full Version : Real needed DOABLE control feature.

With all this crazyness and whinning about a feature that is impossible to impliment, maybe we should ask for something reasonable, like separate engine control axis! This IMHO would be a much bigger improvement to the game, making flying multiengine aircraft more imersive. It would also let you more easily get a bit more from the P38, which should get most of the Yank-whiner http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif, I mean Yankee pilots with me.

We should have axes for:

For engines:
1, 2, 3, 4, left, right and all

We should also be able to assign different keys for each engine for functions like:
Fire extinguisher
Radiator (two keys, open and close)

Also add an axis for the brakes:
Left, right and both (both would function like the current one)

And a pony.
We should all get a pony with the next patch.

I thought the P-51 is already in the game.

I have a partial solution for your problems. It is not as good as if the game would have had native multi engine controls, so keep requesting this. I am entirely pro this post! However it is defenitely good enough to raise the game one level while flying multi engine aircrafts.

What I have made is a profile for multi engine control using the CH throttle quadrant. See:

Due to some crazy bug (either in my script or in the game) it is not possible to get multi engine pitch control.

What the profile does give you is throttle control for all 4 engines, left and right engines or all engines. Also it has individual start buttons for each of the (up to) 4 engines.

The profile also enables newView viewing using the small micro joystick on the pro throttle handle, and some other good stuff also. All this requires the pro throttle, fighterstick USB and the pro pedals from CH. The script is easily modified to work only with the TQ though, enabling those with joysticks of other brands to use the TQ from CH.

Flying the 4-engined TB3 whithout the multi engine control will never be same again. The flying shed has finally come alive! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Also dual engined aircraft benefits greatly from this, especially at the ground handling.

To get my profile, go to:
and look for the post "Pacific fighters, Multi engine control FSPTTQPP" by me (abe_beson at that forum). If you decide to try this out, I will be happy to help you out if you need any help.

Good luck, and happy TB3-ing! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

so this work with the CH products throttle quadrant? That would be a pretty good reason to pick one up.

Still should be native in the game though. Please Oleg, unless it is too difficult to program, if so its completely understandable.

I think part of the problem was that the Il2 engine and its spin offs were never intended to support multi engined flyable aircraft?

How ever this seems like a resonable request and I for one can't remember the reason it was never implemented?

if 'doable' it gets my vote

"We should also be able to assign different keys for each engine for functions like:
Fire extinguisher
Radiator (two keys, open and close)"

You can achieve some of this using Shoot and assign a series of keys (select engine 1, do command, select all engines again) for some of them.

E.g. you say a command like "Engine 1 radiator open"

What would be nice is the facility to do
"Engine 1 radiator full open" etc.

Shoot can't manage that. Voice buddy can interface more directly with IL2's interface so might be able to.
