Luckily this would never been allowed to get a license on our streets. Imagine you drive behind it and it ruins your front with extensive heat exhaust gases . On the other hand looks to be entertaining .<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It has the stock engine for normal driving and the jet for racing. I'll doubt too many would challenge him to a race no matter how it looks.

There is a fabricator in the US that makes Jet turbine powered motorcycles, using the powerplant from Huey choppers.

I remember seeing a program on discovery about it, with Jay Leno .. he did admit to having been the cause of more than one vehicle 'melting' due to it stopping too close behind him at a stop http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Someone should attempt a land speed record with that thing.

I read a story where police found carwreck somewhere 50meters above highway, crushed in cliff, no tracks went there ,nothing that you could say how the car got there.Well the driver
had put RATO rocket to his 65 Duster and he wanted to just try how fast the car would go. It
was fast.. after 90 meter it took of and Crash boom after 400m flying crushed to the cliff yes
Id say what a genius http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

I dont know how true that story is fighter_966, but I had heard that one too. I heard that the guy in question had actually been nominated for the Darwin Award (http://www.darwinawards.com/) .<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It's an urban myth. Never and couldn't happen with a RATO unit as even the most powerful ones don't produce anywhere near the thrust necessary.

Yep, confirmed as bogus according to the site. "Considered true for years, it was later debunked as an Urban Legend by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The story fooled the judges in 1995, and JATO has been grandfathered in as a Darwin Award Winner"

This is where it came from:
