View Full Version : What Does the Radio Man Do?

What does the radio man do in this sim, especially the early period, 1941 or earlier. I have a radio man, but I've never received or heard of a radio transmission. Are radio transmissions activated in SH3 in a later period? Also it seems that I should be able to send radio signals, messages, etc. Not really sure how to do this, when to do this, or does it work? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Before Radar he doesn't do much. But the Radio man handles all incoming and outgoing messages.

Press "M" key to access the message screen to send status reports and to read incoming messages. Click on the Radio man at the bottom left corner to perform similar functions plus a few others. Like, send contact reports. He will reply to your orders by saying "message sent".

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the Radio equipment manually (in a Type IID u-boat). I noticed the Type IID has a radio detector on the bridge but don't see any interface for it. That's one of the things I like about this game. Lot's of neat things to discover.
