I'm running Mac version of the game on a powermac g5 dual 2.3 gig with ATI Rad. 9650 card. The game (video) will sometimes pause then restart. The audio will not pause. If a game character is talking when this happens, the character's lips are out of sync. with his words after the pause. Sometimes the game simply freezes "solid" and the only way out is to restart the machine. What's up with this...?

Which OS version are you running?

Got the exact same problem.
I've just purchased this game, and it freezes very quickly. I can't force-quit, there's still some audio playing for a while. This sounds like a problem with the Radeon drivers.

PowerMac G5 2x2GHz, RAM 1GB, Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB.
PowerBook 1.67GHz, RAM 1GB, Radeon 9700 Mobility 128MB.

Same behaviour on these two Macs, both running MacOSX 10.4.3.

Especially the comments about turning off antialiasing and antistropic filtering in the game settings.

ok so i go home turn off anitaliasing and anisomorphic whatnot nd guess what, it still freezez the res size was left at 800x600 and no other options were changed.

I feel REALLY let down as I have LOVED the previous incarnations of myst but feel that I am being cheated here as it runs worse than a cheap buggy demo.

UBISOFT I hope you are listening as this is NOT acceptable!
Listen to your customers, we want to play, lets us, help us play!
Don't ignore the problem and think well it is only a mac platform, or that the problem will go away. It wont, at least give a public notice that you recognise the issue and are investigating it.

HELP PLEASE!

Ubisoft doesn't read this site. You can raise a case (and complain) through the official support channels though.
