Hey guys I'm just wondering about this, how long realtime do you spend per patrol?

I play now on 92% realism, leaving the just the weapon officer option turned on (real captins I think had them and were proabably more worried about position).

Anyway I find myself spending between 2 and 5 hours per patrol. I've had some I've spent two nights on. How about you guys?

Seems like the 3 patrols I've been on have all gone at least 9 to 11 hours depending on how much stalking I have to do. Damaged a T3 tanker last patrol and had to hide until night came so that I could finish him off. Sometimes chasing something down can take awhile.

I also spend around 2h on each patrol, though it depends on many factors. Many times I find myself in the Channel harrased by DDs for hours! And as with warships menacing your own Uboat there is almost no possible time compression, just imagine. On friday I spend 5 hours just sneaking through 4 DDs near Dover. As soon as it appeared I fooled them, an airplane spotted me and the chase began again! Wow...thrilling. Though it just happen that time. Most of the time I find only 1 or 2 DDs pinging my boat, which I fairly easily avoid.

****! O_O

Mine usually only take about... 2 hours or so I guess.

Depends really... on whether or not I'm in much of an interesting situation. Like right now I'm saved submerged around a convoy of real kick *** ships, but ****it, a destroyer detected me >_<

I couldn't really sneak in because they were faster than I could go submerged. Well no... but only slightly slower. I retrospect I should've gotten ahead of them but hey... maybe I can still try that.

I would say 4 to 12 hours depending on the type of boat, how many convoys I see, and how much evading of escorts I have to do.

A Type II where I see no convoys and am not attacked by escorts I might finish in 4 hours.

But in a larger boat where I attack convoy, and have to evade the escorts might easily take 8 to 12 hours or more.

Anywhere from 3-7 hours per patrol. Or 2-4 weeks game time.

Anywhere around 35hrs for a type11 patrol.
It takes a good hour from ship spotted to get myself within stiking point.

I think as the campaign progressed you find your patrols getting longer with convoys popping up with all those juicy targets. I was using time compression to speed things up but with more escorts around not a good idea me thinks. Tried an end run round a convoy last nite but lost it doh! Should have just stayed on it's tail until nightfall but was impatient. Will have to stay in real time from now on and just save the game when necessary.

About two weeks realtime for one patrol. I have to crashdive in real life quite often as the inhouse destroyer (Wife class) frequently pings me and drops alot of depthcharges...
