View Full Version : Collisions 'O Doom

My greatest performance tonight, playing the excellent Hurricanes over Britain user campaign. In defending Portsmouth I shot down two junkers, and then in an agonisingly long dogfight battling for height, shot down a BF109 followed by another two BF109's due to cunning heading off at the pass. I was feeling real smug as I pulled out of my attack and flew away. I followed it down with my eyes, feeling really indulgent as I knew the sky had been cleared of enemies. I saw the splash, and twisted my head back forwar-

"You have died in collision."

Why Lord? Why?! There were only two other planes in the area, both friendlies! What are the chances! Oh! I'll never follow down again... *blub*.

How often does this happen to you lot, then?

Oh not too often...

Collisions from my part:

* Stubbornly continue the head-on attack against a fighter... thinkin' he'll turn away or get shot down and blow up... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif

* Just getting close on a bogeys 6 and firing and getting even closer... oops... too close... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

Otherwise I allways steer clear of the AI pilots, or they do have some degree of intelligence to steer clear of me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

when you're commanding a flight, AI planes seem to try and reform with you by flying head on at you.

I was doing a night mission and flew straight up the back of a bomber, completely misjudged speed and distance.

and I've often shot down a plane only to have a part of it fly off and kill me or once have the pilot bail and crash straight into me.
