Hi,

Thankyou for the great development update you have just given us. The reason for this post is that all too often an official post gets swamped with replies and that you, understandably, cannot read and reply to all of them.

In light of the recent development update we can, I feel, presume that we have some kind of western front addon in the pipeline. This is all the more apparent given that your update features an image entitled 'BunkerOmahaBeach.jpg', which is great news as it points well and truly toward the Normandy Landings.

My Question, therefore, is:
Where do the Spitfire, Typhoon/Tempest, Mosquito and Lancaster feature in this addon? Are they being done but being kept under wraps? ( I seem to remember seeing development shots of the Spit, Typhoon and Mosquito ).

I realise that you may not be able to say that much but could you just give us an indication of whats happening? I am sure you are aware that there are many people who are keen to get into these much loved and admired aircraft.

Thanks for your time,
Matt.

p.s. other questions I would like answered/hinted at, if you have time /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
Q. Will we see mine sweepers?
Q. Will we have DC-3's and para troops, ala Band of Brothers?
Q. _if_ it is Operation Overlord etc, how will you recreate such a large invasion force? I'm thinking in terms of making it realistic from a quantity of ships, aircraft, troops perspective? i.e. On D day the allies had at their disposal 7000 ships , including 4000 landing craft, 20,000 vehicles, including 1000 tanks, 11000 planes 2,500 gliders , and 150,000 men.
Q. How would you recreate the navy shelling the coastline?
Q. What about the anti-submarine operations?

That'll do for now /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I could answer as the 'Interim Community Official', but Catrix re-appeared today so you're probably in good hands now /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Indeed, what direction is FB going in, what have british mustangs, coastl guns , flak emplacemnts have to do with the eastern feel. Im really confused as to how FB is going now. Not that i'm complaining as i love FB /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

As I see this, FB is currently being developed in different directions, since there are some more pacific-theater additions and some of the western front, like France, maybe Normandie and the BattleOfBritain.

I think it gives lots of opportunities for your favourite historically correct war-missions, as well as a whole bunch of what-if-scenarios.

Actually, I love the idea of matching different aircraft from different war-theaters in one combat. Just think of some Japanese fighter against some Me109 or FW190 /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I'm really looking forward to the future of IL2FB!
