View Full Version : Weird problem with 1946 and Rudder pedals (CH USB)

Long story short:

CH rudder pedals work with 4.05m installation, but not my 4.07m 1946 installation (installed to a separate hard drive).

I dont know why this would be, and a reboot or an unplug-replug of the device would fix the problem..

Any ideas? (if you need some kind of information that i didnt give, then please let me know)<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If you havn't checked already, launch 1946 and go in to the control options and re-set the rudder axis. I had this happen to me a couple of times where my device ID changed for some reason on my pedals.

Same happened to me Reaper, and I copied the info from my old installation .ini file into my new installation .ini file, and all my key assignments, pedals (CH), and Joystick worked perfectly. Make Backups of anything you intend to change, and put them in a new folder somewhere. Good Luck!

what is the name of the .ini i need to copy?

i cant find "installation.ini" in "C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles" (4.05 directory)

IIRC it's "conf.ini" but I'm not absolutely sure.

i would do that, but why would it work with 4.05 and not 4.07?


Same computer, same settings, but when i boot up the 4.07 version it doesnt work...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If your controls work properly in 4.05, then copy the conf.ini file from 4.05 and paste it into 4.07(you might want to change the name of the conf.ini file in 4.07 first so you have a backup if you need it....change it to conf.ini.original or something like that).

Also copy the "users" folder from 4.05 and paste it into 4.07(again....back up the original folder)

That should hopefully give you all your control settings back.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Control assignments aren't in conf.ini, they're in the settings.ini file in the ...IL2 Sturmovik\Users\{pilot name}\ folder corresponding to the middle name of the pilot you're using. That's why I said to copy the "users" folder...I thought it was probably just easier that way.

Tully's right...you don't need the conf.ini....but a lot of other settings are in there that you may want to move across...including the joystick and pedal sensitivity settings.....which you may have to tweak a little anyway with the new flight control model.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Zactly why I didn't mention conf.ini
1946 responds so differently that I didn't even realise that my settings weren't what was in use:

My old 4.04m settings:

Roll: 13 21 28 39 53 65 77 88 96 100
Pitch: 22 28 37 45 54 65 77 88 97 100
Yaw: 35 41 48 56 67 76 82 89 95 100


The default 1946 (4.07m) settings I discovered after I'd been flying a couple of weeks:

Roll: 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100
Pitch: 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100
Yaw: 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100

Given how much differently joysticks seem to be responding 4.07 and later, I'd suggest starting from scratch with joystick settings rather than trying to make old settings work.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
