I was wondering if there would be underwater minefields and anti-submarine nets in the game? I was looking around the internet and found this site, it explains a lot of WW2 weapons including things about u-boats.

Sorry, I never go to the Subsim forums. Has there been anything metioned on the nets, or is that included with the mines?
Also, note the shipping lanes along the english channel, may help you find some freighters.

I have witnessed discussions that nets, mines and mine fields will be present in the game. I attempted to locate the forum discussions for your reading pleasure, but the junk of a forum search engine is returning nothing...even though I myself posted some discussion on the topic in recent months.

Anyway, we should be able to lay mines as well as to enjoy the adreniline of nets and existing mine fields.

Let's hope that we can hear the mine cables scraping our hull as we pass through.

Hey...get on this topic.

Mining and netting are important tactical aspects of submarine operation in coastal or inland water areas.

We need some input on this subject that was brought forth by Carlos1123.

Whats the story behind subs slipping through nets? Are there not some historical operations where this occured? I am curious as to how it might be done in SH.

Sorry,no info about nets and minefields right now. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif I'm going to check some of my relative books though http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif I just hope in major allied ports they're going to be included so we are not able to accomplish port attacks with very high tonnage sunk like one could in SH1. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Thanks for the response. I am in the process of moving and my entire library is in boxes at present. I hope to pull some reference in the next few weeks.

I recall reading about mine laying operations but only a few references to nets, such as scapa flow and the like.
