It would be so nice if you could also explore the torpedo room and engine room of your sub in SHIII..why didnt they also include that in the game?

as i understand it, the devs originally planned to have a scripted campaign for the game.. same as SH2, but the fans voted for a dynamic campaign so they decided to redesign the game to include it. with deadlines to meet, they had to make certain sacrifices.. but i wouldn't be surprised if they included those features in the upcoming expansion pack http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
personally, i think the dynamic campaign was the right move.

A 100% fully modelled interior of a U-boat would be peachy...very peachy indeed.

Pixel for pixel the sub interior is only a map and if you consider the size of some of the maps that are played on in other games then I dont see the above proposition as an impossibilty.

I forget which game it was Medal of Honour Allied Assualt I think !...not sure...but one of the missions included a scene of a sub in its sub-pen with a view to blowing it up and the subs interior, a large chunk of it too, was modelled...and quite well too.

Lets hope that this dream will finally come to the SH franchise .

As a somewhat experienced Unreal engine mapper, it looks to me like the polycount of both the sub interior and the characters is pretty trivial compared to the environments found in fps games.
