Hahnweide is much more better because the airfield is more narrow. In 2006 or 2007 Rote 7 passed by in <10m over my head during the landing approach with the engine idling. A very impressive experience. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

It sure runs on the rich side, doesn't it?

Yup, you can tell it's a 109 alright.

Great to see this OP, thanks for posting.

Red 7 is a lovely plane and I am very pleased to see it restored.
I thought it was still in a hanger in pieces. Thank you for posting these links.

It's nice to see it being displayed properly too. The Hahnweide routine put it through it's paces, and they don't seem to have inhibitions about flying towards the crowd, which can sometimes make displays look a bit tame.

The slo-mo of the landing at the end of part II of the first video was revealing - amost a perfect 3-pointer, though if you look carefully, the tailwheel touched first - didn't bounce more than 3 or 4 inches. Why can't I do that? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I'd advise anybody to check for more Hahnweide Vids. There are a couple real gems out there

Spit, B17, P40, Fw190, Bf109

I know cameras and lenses and viewpoints make things seem slightly different but the Hahnweide airfield looks very tiny and not the most level of runway.
Approaching over trees EEEK,maybe it is the viewpoint and zoom lenses exaggerate things.

As in my taste in the opposite sex, I tend to appreciate the alternative beauty of the Bf-109 over the obvious beauty of the Spitfire.

This video really showcases it!

The two just could not let go of each other, even after WW2.

Jeez, the 190 almost undershot the runway. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

You can really tell how much the view gotta suck during approach http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

And wow, that Spit/ 109 flyby really blows me away.

Sorry to say, but the 109 looks so much more fighter-like than that raceplane-Spitfire http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Now that looked like my kind of Airshow, somebody must have a BMW engine for that FW, surely there's got to be one or two lying around somewhere, TFP
