Another vain attempt to get the authorities to acknowledge Bomber Commands efforts and sacrifices.

Without doubt, its still worth showing your support.

Please pass it on.

I signed it too.

I object to being excluded for not being a UK resident. Bomber Command had many Commonwealth members. So I fudged my way in. Sue me.

That's an extremely valid point, Waldo.

Dissapointing that the petition is not open to Commonwealth countries!

I currently serve in an ex-Bomber Command unit that lost 38 RAAF personnel from 1942-45, as well as 92 RAF personnel, 3 RCAF and one RNZAF member for a total of,

134 Aircrew, with more lost in accidents on the ground.

Bomber Command was a Commonwealth effort and it should be remembered as such.

A sobering thought...

95% of those aircrew in Bomber Command at the outbreak of WW2 in September 1939 were dead by 1945 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

I agree that the Commonwealth made a huge contribution to the RAF in WW2, but I think that this petition relates to UK 'voters' in order to create pressure on the Government.

Best Regards,
MB_Avro.

Best Regards,
MB_Avro. If I'm not mistaken there is a memorial in Canada to the Canadian bomber crews who were killed. I don't know whether any other commonwealth countries have memorials dedicated to their own countries brave bomber crews.

Ridiculous this even has to be done. One would think after the statue of Harris went up in London the BC Memorial would have been a natural.
