How many of you have been able to unlock Altair's armor? As for me, I'm stuck with the last tomb, the Visitazione's secret episode; this one is so tough....I saw a video on youtube of someone who did this at one go...Straight away without having to use the lever a second time...I'm so impressed...I am using the Xbox 360 controller for PC! I think the running up the wall, one move I haven't been doing at all since the beginning of the game is the big problem here.....Please share your experience!! Thank you

Got it.

The last one isn't that hard really. What you have to do is watch the flyby and and it shows you all the tips and tricks.

I agree that it's hard to get, but totally worthwhile [The armor never needs to be repaired as far as I can tell]

You mean there are people that have trouble with the tombs? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
They seemed very simple to me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

I have all of them, except the last one....Did YOU get the last one, the Visitazione's secret...the one where you have to run up the wall and end on several levers to open the tomb....?? This is the one I've been strugling with for several hours now, unlike the others!!

I've waited till the last moment to try to get this armor, with the last seal....I couldn't get it before, so I gave up, and kept going in the game...It's only after the Battle of Forli and the Bonfire of Vanities episodes that I decided to complete everything with obtaining this armor, but still so hard to do and Ezio at that point is already in old age (Wearing a bear)....I'm not sure if he is in good shape enough compared to the early years...LOL http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif But these people who put video walkthrough on youtube and elsewhere are real masters at this game....

I was cursing a lot while in this tomb myself, it was a big pain. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

However, continue trying, you'll figure it out eventually. I'm playing with keyboard/mouse and had never done this particular jump before either, but in the end it turned out not to be that hard after all. (Then again, I've never played AC/AC2 with a controller, maybe that's more difficult.)

Anyway, I think Altair's armor is worth the trouble. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I really can't think of any that caused me any major trouble, maybe slightly frustrating, but nothing that really annoyed me...

I dunno, I didn't really have any problems with the tombs, they're not that hard...

Not hard, but pretty annoying. Some people I know liked the tombs best, but I don't see a point in having a time limit to get through a bunch of mostly empty caves with levers, rocks and water.

I very much prefer to have people around you can sneak past (or kill), not just jump-and-run action where the camera angle drives you nuts for no apparent reason.

Normally, the play with the Xbox 360 controller for Windows is very smooth on AC and AC2, but perhaps for this tomb part, with the precise moves required, it could be a problem; I have to try and play it with mouse and keyboard, just to check if it is better!!

Yes, was pretty easy really, enjoyed doing the tombs, did them as soon as each one became available.

Got that one, enjoyed it, sorry, but I didn't find it too hard at all. Infact I was jumping around in there for quite a while before I even really started on opening it up, just taking screen shots of the inside.

ANy particular lever your having problems with? happy to help out and explain how I did it.

At times some of them do get a little frustrating, but not that one, mainly the ones with the timer, one specifically I ****ty with (sorry dont remember who's tomb), you have to pull the lever, the tomb is in the middle with water around, two giant statues each side, you basically jump around in a complete circle and end up back where you started, all off one timer. For me that was the biggest pain to do. I managed to get it, but took a little time to work out where I needed to be jumping/swinging to each time, timer runs out and you have to start from scratch again, so annoying.

Oh and btw I usekKeyboard and mouse, doubt I could cope using any gamepad, they are just not precise enough for my liking.

**edit:
Also other thing I would say that did sometimes frustrate me, I hate the way the camera moves around sometimes. Like its no longer directly behind, I understand what its trying to do and show me where I need to jump back/sideways to, but trouble is it also changed the direction keys, instead of now pushing S + space to jump backwards, it became D+Space because of the direction the camera is facing, annoying... and I also found if I didn't get the camera straight before trying the jump, Ezio would end up jumping on and angle and miss. Hope that makes sense. I wish the camera would just stay behind, I dont mind having some ability to look around, but dont force me to look a different direction, give me the choice.

The tombs were very very easy to me, but I'm using a mouse and a keyboard. I did most of them in one try. Those that I didn't, it was because of the wacky camera angles, they did annoy me a bit.

unlocked it right when the last tomb appeared
wasnt all that difficult just took a bit of patience and perseverance
the only think i regret on the armor is the less detailed greaves and the lack of a shoulder pad :P

The only "hard" thing in that tomb is the automated camera angels that screw up your orientation.

Do the tombs [or in my case the entire game] with a keyboard. It allows more fluid control when you're timed and more finesse. A better option [imo] than a controller

thats it on the head, without that it would be a simple case of leaping.

but the avatars jump direction isnt linked to the camera,so its made random.

It definitely doesn't need repair.

I've let myself get pretty beat up wearing it, and not even tried repairing until I ran out of medicine. No damage, no repair needed.

Then I got bored and wealthy, and mixed up my armour types until I found a combination I think is pretty.

****Spoiler for any who haven't finished 100%****

Yeah its the fact it is unbreakable that makes it special, if you follow the codex pages you'll see references to the fact Altair creates the armor using the the apple of something he gets from using the apple. He then goes on to say he should probably destroy or hide it so nobody can copy his work.

I gather he's used some futuristic material by looking in to the future using the apple. Creates his new armor then realises how dangerous it would be if the Templars or someone like Al Mualim got their hands on it, destroys any evidence of his new armor and pretends its just a normal suit of armor even with the other assassins.

the one with the plates where you had to do 4 movements was a lot harder then the last one IMO. I had to redo a lot of those paths on that one.

and I mean common, its not like its an accomplishment to get the armor, it shows you right on the map where you need to go lol. I can see if you had to really search for the tombs..

I'm not sure how people are finding this difficult?
On my first play through it did, admitedly, take the longest for me, about 20-30 minutes, but on my second run through I did it on my first or second attempt. Make sure you run up the walls facing the way you wanna go, not the wall that faces where you've come from...

The wall jump is indeed the hardest part of AC2. You only need it in two tombs, one of it is the final tomb. It took me some tries, but at last I managed in both tombs. If you played all Tomb Raider games, you don't give up so fast http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think the last tomb's been discussed on another thread. What threw me was the penukltimate obstable. I thought yuou had to somehow double jump up the big rock after the hurdles at the rooms 3rd corner - instead of going round the back (doh!).

What mainly held me up on 2nd playthrough was effing cutscenes of the valut gradually unlocking, which totally destroyed momentum swinging to next hurdle. And the wretched camera when it came to bouncing off that shield, of course...!

I don't recall a running side jump off a wall being necessary anywhere but the last tomb. As I've said before though, it is ironic that so many say they struggle with it when in fact Desmond's Altair dream requires a small side jump to get up the tower much earlier in the game, and there's no onscreen hint for it like in the last tomb. It's the one where you're on a small balcony and there's a protruding beam above that cannot be directly jumped to.

Anyways, I was over prepared for all jumps in this game having beaten TR: Anniversary a few times. Anniversary makes any jumps in this game look like a cake walk. There was only one jump I could not consistently make in Anniversary. It was a grapple wall jump to a large health pack in the Midas level where you're above an area where you collapse a pillar to get one of the lead bars.

I got all the relics and artifacts though, and the relic on the pillar of fire in that level was one of the epic ones. Sadly they don't make TRs like they used to. Underworld was quite a let down with the artifacts.
