Sylvester must be getting desperate.

I enjoyed 2 and 3, but that was before I became aware of silliness. I sometimes still wonder how I actually liked Rambo 3... Rambo versus the whole Soviet Union in a tank or foot or with knife...

No.1 is still good though.

Another one? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

The 4 Rambo Movie Rules

1. Sylvester Stallone shall have no lines with more than eight words.
2. Those words will have less than three syllables. Preference is for one syllable.
3. Plot lines shall be simple, derivative and only vary on the same tired theme.
4. All Stallone movies shall be released for cable within 10 days of theatrical release so as not to cause theater owners any undue loss of income because of empty theaters.

I can see it now, jumps out of an aircraft armed to the teeth, bandana around his aging head...... drags his suitcase out from the baggage hold, opens it....... Pops the lid on his bottle of banned Humane Growth enhancing drugs........ shovels them in by the mouthful, then guns blazing, attempts to storm through Australian Customs............... OHH wait, hes already done that one. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Rocky Balboa was a pretty good movie.

Now this, this will be another bloody (lol) gunfest, a genre which has been waaay overdone if you ask me. Nowadays they're all the same: Lots of guns and language, women, and a tough hero who pulls off the same ridiculous stunts, all of which use involve a car.

I thought the last Rocky movie was good...

The first Rambo movie was good and it pretty much stands the test of time...(It's still a good solid movie)

The later Rambo movies where products of their time and seem pretty silly now, (Do you remember the big budget/high body count/super macho movie wars of the 1980's and early 1990's??? Eastwood, Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Willis, Gibbson...and to a lesser extent van Dam, and Sagal) but at that time most people enjoyed them...(he gave the people what they wanted to see...)

Stallone is a pretty smart guy, and he is good at figuring out what people want/expect...I felt the last Rocky movie pretty much delivered what we needed in a "Rocky" movie, and I expect he will more then likely do a decent job here too...

"First Blood" was quite a decent movie, and I still enjoy it, though I've always found the Colonel Trautman character quite stereotyped and ridiculous. The final monologue ("I can't find his legs!") became rather popular among my student buddies as a comical tag, and I almost could recite it at heart.

As for the other movies, they were comical without intending to, which is IMHO the worst thing that can happen to a 'serious' movie, and were seen by many outside the US as rather gross Reagan administration propaganda, but were not worse than even more surrealistic stuff of those times, like Chuck Norris round-kick movies or the "American Ninja" movie series (LOL http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif ).

BTW, there were LOTS of film around that time about super soldiers going back to Vietnam to kick a$s there. I guess those movies helped healing the wounds created by the unsatisfactory outcome of the war, through fictional counterstrike and victory.

And Seagal doesn't make movies, he perpetrates them.
