Wow. I've already seen some of those pictures (quite a few...), but there were well over a hundred new ones there!
Nice tanks too.

The aircraft look quite fantastic as do the tanks. What I am not quite so sure of are the buildings. I go to northern France quite a lot and certainly in some parts it is not that easy to spot pre-1914 houses but most don't look like what is portrayed here. It is a smallish quibble in what is shaping up to be a first rate WWI sim if it carries on like this.

I hope that the new BoB sim looks carefully at the ground detail. Towns in Il-2 look very much like villages only larger, rather than having any kind of urban structure. In 1940 a British town would often have a mediaeval/16th/17th century core with Georgian additions, Victorian terraces further out and 1920/1930s development beyond that. Railways and industry might cut through much of the town as well. An interesting problem for the designers and I wish them luck!

Those are absolutely beautiful. Red Baron 3D was responsible for my addiction to flight simms and I can't wait to jump back into an S.E.5a and hear that hi speed spray above my head when the Lewis gun lets lose.

yes - preorder money would help with developement and give devs. a revenue/sales projection.

I wonder if they have established a retail price yet?

So much work has been done that we Can see...yet we can only imagine the work that has been done to the Il2 engine....

I would really like to see a movie or better yet hear that there will be a demo available - pre release.

There is one thing I wanted to add on WW-1 flying that I had forgotten after years of flying FB/PF & not playing Red Baron that was brought home to me when I recently downloaded the free sim ( & quite a good one except for the predictable AI FM) Over Flanders Field, and that is the difficulty of catching or running away from opposing aircraft;this is because of the closeness of top speeds in all the aircraft in the Great War & their slow climbing speed. On the level it takes forever to creep up on your foe & if he is above you ...forget it....
Don't get me wrong I'll get this sim...it has such great eye candy...but playing it will take much more patience than say flying the Me-262 slash & burn method of flying that I have gotten used to...

maybe that is why there won't be a demo...

Rickenbacker said you needed altitude and good eyesight.

I hope the LOD's are improved.

German artillery had a method of spotting - they would indicate enemy aircraft to their patrolling fighters by firing a number of shells into the air equal to and at the same alt. as the allied fighters. The German patrol planes could then manoever to an attack position.
