View Full Version : Aces' Artwork: IL-2MAT/Manager and 3.01 patch

Hi all,

I can confirm that IL2-MAT works just fine with the new executables included in the v3.01 patch.
If you intend to use the new fatster loading executable named il2fb_new.exe then simply rename il2fb.exe to something else eg. il2fb_old.exe then renamed il2fb_new.exe to il2fb.exe. Launch the game and IL2-MAT will display your choice of markings as chosen in IL2-MAT Manager.

I'm extremely impressed with the new patch, lots of really nice additions such as the new view distance graphics and also it loads in a flash which helps IL2-MAT do its file loading in the background.

Hats off to Oleg and his team.

Best Regards

Hi guys,

I was playing around with some markings and thought I'd have a bit of fun http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

One of the things that I'm considering for the next version is adding an option to all of the National markings drop-down boxes to allow selection of a user created markings TGA file, eg. the ability to have a marking of your choice displayed where, say the balkenkreuzes or white stars or roundels go etc. It's a bit of fun really. I have always tried my best to include historically accurate markings but there's scope fo a bit of fun etc http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Also working on some other new ideas, more of these when I've had a chance to experiment.

'scuse the gitprong question Aces, please.

how do i get the full set of lined raf numbers to work?

i tried ém recently and only the single letter id came up.

i've tried everything you mentioned in your recent posts, but still only 50/50. any suggestions much appreciated.

hope you're feeling rested after your recent marathon efforts. some ungodly hours you've been putting in.

Hi m8,

That's puzzling you should get the 2 new RAF numbering/lettering options by simply selecting either of them from their drop-down box and quitting. You should also get them randomised if you also select the RAF randomised option.

Get back to me with a screengrab of your setup and I'll try and work out what's happening. It could be that the MATs are taking a while to display the new program has introduced many hundreds of new MATs for the new options. Try going to the arming screen and toggling markings on and off, plane types or nationality. The new fast-load exe helps as the program loads very fast leaving the MATs to copy over faster.

Nice markings !
I have a little problem with the v.1.94.When I customise and hit "Quit" the loader fills up to 80% and then I get a: (run-time "53" error file not found) box and loading stops. In game though the markings seem to be of my choise and IL2MAT Manager keeps running after the crash.

Hi elephant m8,

Thanks, there's a v1.94.1 patch on my website which sorts that and a few other problems in v1.94 out. The download contains a new program build (v1.94.1) and some extra MAT files.

Available here:

v1.94 to V1.94.1 update (http://www.leigh-kemp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/IL2-MAT_Manager_V1_94_to_V1_94_1_Patch.exe)

To install, first use add-rmove programs to un-install MAT Manager. DO NOT delete your CoopRegt folder or any MAT files. Then run the new installer and it will add some MAT files and then run the v1.94.1 installer. Run IL2-MAT Manager, re-configure with your choice of setting, quit and you should ready to go http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

zetareticulan m8,

Just another thought, you migt not be aware that many of the new RAF squadrons added in PF do not have any squadron profix codes or the MATs to load them, maybe you are selecting one of these. The "none" option should always display the codes "RS" so that's a good one for checking with.

Allo, Aces

below you'll see some piccies of the Mat Manager interface and the results as far as the raf wallahs're concerned.
here's the interface...
Like I say, I've tried all your suggestions and given the prog enough time to get settled down. (I'd wait until domesday to get this little honey working just so).
My O.S. is hardly the most stable and has dreams of corruption.
If all else fails, I confidently expect your next (oh boy oh boy oh boy)release will work just fine.

Hi m8,

Most curious, I'll have a thorought check through things this morning and see what I can find. I'll setup my prog identical to yours and see what happens.

I'll post some info back to this posting later

All the best

Sorry but the same error after v.1.94.01 patch.Should I try to uninstall and insall again?

11-21-2004, 04:47 AM
Hi elephant,

Yes please and before you do please post a screenshot of your seetings.

Hi zetareticulan,

I set my options to match yours and the squadron codes displayed fine but I noticed that it was sometimes neccessary to select a different aircraft "number" and this forced the squuadron codee to appear. I'll work mor on this.

Here is what I get:
Stab markings weathering is on and the VVS red stars are set to default.
I wish to add a request for numbering ala' Val and Kate for the Zero too, if it is possible.
The default one is at least monstrous!

Thanks elephant,

The most probable culprit is the "Escuadrilla Azul" option but the was fixed in the v1.94.1 build.

Maybe an install of the full v1.94.1 download will fix things.

I'll see what I can do with the other Japanese numbers but I'm a bit concerened that the MAT file count for IL2-MAT to copy over is getting really high. I have an idea for v1.95 which would maybe help this but introducing hundreds of new MATs to be copied is going to push things even further.

Let me know how you get on.

Best Regards
