Everyone... and I mean everyone who has experienced graphics problems with ATI cards needs to report the bug to ATI and here's how...

Oleg just wrote me asking that we all make sure to report our ATI graphics bugs to the proper place at ATI and in the proper way. To help us help the game, I am going to go step by step through the proper proceedure for reporting the graphics bugs in this game to ATI...

1) Go to www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) and set up an account.

2) When you encounter a graphics problem, take a screen shot of the picture you are getting. How do you do this? You hold down on the Ctrl button on your keyboard and hit the key on the keyboard that says "Print Screen" on it. While you are STILL IN THE GAME, do a Ctrl Esc to minimize the game and go to Start>Programs>Accessories>Paint and put your cursor in the white box. Right click and hit paste. Then in Paint, look in the upper left hand corner where it says File and do a "Save As" You will notice a box comes up and it will have two boxes at the bottom. The first one is where you give the file a name. The lower box is where you tell Paint in what format to save the file. Look for the type of file that says JPEG. Hit save and then you can find it again in your "My Pictures" folder by default unless you direct it to go somewhere else.

3) Go log in at www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) and it will take you to a screen where you can upload files. Upload the JPEG file of the screen shot you wish to use. You will notice that the screen shot you want will then appear below the dialouge box for uploading pictures. Click on the picture you want. This web page is NOT the address you want. This will take you to another web page with a large, full screen rendering of your picture. You will see a link at the very bottom in blue. Click on that and another web page comes up. Highlight the entire web address of that web page and click copy.

4) Go to http://apps.ati.com/driverfeedback/index.asp and fill in the form. Under issue description you want to enter the following...

paste the web adress you copied just a bit ago in this spot

That will give then the exact image you saved in the screen shot.

Apparenty, ATI, like most big companies thinks big. They look at driver complaints by numbers. If few people report a problem, they see no reason to work on it. Let's face it, we are by gaming standards a very small community and we all need to go through the effort to report these bugs.

One quick question Lucky if I mayhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Is it the newer cards only that are having the problems?

I've got a 9800pro & the only driver that didnt work was the 4.11.

I had this happen two patches ago and two drivers back. I dropped sound acceleration to stop the problem. I havent even tried latest drivers. I think I'm 4.11 at moment not quite sure how to tell.
Click link its too big for forum structure.

The problem seems to affect the 256 MB graphics cards the most and 9800 cards or higher most often, but some are reporting trouble with 9700 and 9600 cards as well. These older drivers you guys are running do not take advantage of the full 256 MB of memory.

T_O_A_D, please send a link to that picture to ATI.

Thanks LB for explaining.

Found the 4.10 the best all round driver for my rig so far. So I have stuck with it.

I'm now a little more smarter this evening than I was this morning.Still thick as a brick thoughhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

9800XT here, and never ever had any issues at all with any Catalyst drivers...

Same here, 9800XT, no problems.

Why are you keep resurecting this thread LB? Hunter and Coastie are working closely with ATI and 1C on this issue and things are happening.

I have a 128 mg 9800pro and I get graphic bugs when my window has holes through it in all Jap planes and US planes. Worked fine before I installed the 5.1s. Going back to 4.10 for now.

Crazy, I'm doing so per Hunter82's and ATI's request to keep encouraging people to report the problems. Quite frankly I am puzzled as to why you would want to stop the process of getting as many people to report this problem as possible. It is terribly discouraging to find out a moderator would have any problem with this whatsoever.

Ok, let me explain myself, to make things more clear. You posted it across every forum and it`s very hard to keep track of all this for people who are gathering information. It`s very simple...it`s a technical problem and keep it at tech support forum. Everyone will benefit from it. Hunter asked about 1000 times and i even had it sticky for a while... all ATI and other tech issues to go to tech support forum so they can be looked at. It`s that simple. Scattering it all over the place does not help. Ask Hunter and Coastie if you don`t believe me. There is a thread in tech support forum dedicated to this so lets keep all replies in there. Am i making sense? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Quite frankly,... no! My posting this request in other forums has dramatically increased the number of reports. So much so that ATI now admits to having received at least a few requests on the issue.

I AM NOT asking anyone to report the problem to this thread or this forum. That would be useless. This is simply a way of spreading the word that we all need to report the problems to ATI with screen shots of the problems as an example.

Crazydude, I must be missing something big time here because your logic simply does not make much sense.

I dunno Ivan, I think Lucky is doing a great job here. I also think you've misinterpreted him - all he wants is people to go directly to ATi and present their problems, not post them here.

Problem is with perfect mode only on drivers later than 4.10. Only hitch with 4.10 is you get very dark water.

Ati have listed PF as a known problem in the readme for the recent driver releases.
