Hi,
What convergence/delay settings do you recommend for using the RS-82 rockets in Air-to-Air combat?
I've witnessed online what a deadly weapon they are if used correctly, and am trying to master the rocketeering skills. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In antitank role you can set them pretty close and take out two tanks with them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif :

NICE! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif
How many tries did that take? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Not that much, some 3 or 4 - but I was lucky. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great pics! So they actually cross paths? thank god they don't hit eachother http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Did you figure our the convergence when two targets are on those two specific notches in the reticle?

Hehe, it was actually the other way round: I set down the tanks, set convergence to 150 (or was it 100?) meters and then tried to figure out the correct time to fire.

About rockets hitting eachother - I would be extremely surprised if I saw that kind of modelling in '46. The sim nevertheless already suprised (and still does so!) lotsa times, so...

I remember one time when I took off in I-153 loaded with RS-82 rockets... I accidentally touched ground with one wing and immediately disintegrated.
I believe that rockets activated when I touched the ground with wing http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif .

I leave the convergence at a large distance, I want them to fly pretty straight as I set a .5 sec delay. I want them to blow up close to my target and maybe do some damage if I don't hit them directly. If they don't do any damage there is still a lot to be said for scaring the pi$$ out of them, lol!

Thanks for the input y'all!

Shinjiro, how do you do that? I only can set 1.0 sec delay.

Click into the rocket delay and type 0.5, the . on the number pad does not work so use the "period" key.

Tried it, but doesn't work here.
It automatically switches back to 1 second, which seems to be some kind of minimum setting.

Maybe I'm thinking 1.5? I'm still at work, lol.

Would be cool if it goes below 1sec. (for dogfight), but I'm afraid it's not.

I set them at the same range as my guns and use them to range it the target. Seems to work for me, uses a little bit of ammo but don't tend to miss them very often.
