I re-installed FB. I did a complete from-scratch install up to v3.04M, on my DVD ROM instead of my cd-writer

Lots of little improvements in loading speed. My time to shut off the sim is back to about 3 seconds, down from about 2 minutes

Radio comms appear correct so far

Tracks...look spectacular. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gifI had always had a sepia-tone effect, that I hated. Now I have almost black and white. Crisp definition, nice contrast

I wonder what option got defaulted http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Certainly glad to hear it Chuck. I had similar problems that were initially traced back to a faulty drive, but a clean install with minor tweaks has been running almost like glass for me the last few months. Though it's a decent PItA, I plan on "cleaning" mine up every 4-6 months. All the while saving my skins folder and any other pertinent stuff.

I actually have my own little step-by-step process that has worked flawlessly since the release of PF.

..now where's that monkey paw and chicken foot.

I'm thinking of doing a complete uninstall/ reinstall once the add-on arrives. I'm afraid some of the "clutter" I accumulated in unplayed missions, campaigns, and skins may slow performance (although it hasn't happened yet). Reading about Chuck's travails got me convinced.

I always get the brownish colored historical tracks though. How do you get it to be the black-and-white kind ?

Why don't you fellas/fellattes just have backup folder of UnPatched game folder, instead of re~install the five Cds?

Because you didn't suggest it until just now.
